If you watched any NAB cup games Broughton stood out like dogs balls. Cant see any good reason why he is not getting a game??
I dont even need him to play as he is my 8th back, but Cmon Harves if your seriously rebuilding play the boy!

Chuck, this is Gibbs 3rd season ole mate.
And Hoop will be back this week. Ratts was giving him two weeks in the twos to harden the f**k up but as The Bullants had the bye last week he will be magoos bound one more week only. Surely Steven Browne wont be holding down his spot for too much longer

Jb was unable to catch most pre season due to time constraints

Sorry Chuck, misread your note, I understand you were talking about Bryces last season

    @Howie

“Look at Gibbs second AFL season. Soaking up and adapting the AFL pressure both on and offield takes a certain attitude. Just ask Lawrence Anguin.”

What I mean is HAVE A LOOK at Gibb’s second season.

About Hot Lips – after losing one of my league games by 35pts and having a Hoopla (name?) doughnut – and the fact he’s listed as emergency – I just couldnt take the risk. I knew about the bye and the fact that the previous week – Him and young Mitch racked up 40 each. I really appreciate your comments. Have you looked at Grimes, or you reckon he’ll Bruce Reid on us?

  14. Howie

Already have Grimes, got on last week. Have Pestinko and Broughton aswell as the Hoop so will probably cop a doughnut. Wish it was Spudrenko that I had offed for Grimes. Was banking on that TIT getting more than 15 points last week. I cant see how they can play him for a while now, it has to be very costly to your confidence when you get more free kicks against than total possies

@Howie – with the Grimes trade, I’ looking to go Krak out – and get this……

    Bazza Hall in

sounds silly but I think he’s cheap at $322K on SC then this will finance my Rich to Bartel trade next week. To me Bartel, GAJ, Chornes, Goodes, Haselby, Selwood with Cotch and Liam Anthony in the mid that could deliver a pretty reliable 800 per week. By then I should have double cover… on all 3 lines (hopefully Liams up by then) and 1 ruck cover. This should set me up for a trade free period between the end of R9 and around R13 or 14. Though you just never know……

Bazza can go big and I saw a new Bazza the other night. Or should I say, that powerful, purposeful forward running into half forward and menacing packs taht we saw up to 2 years ago.

  18. Howie

    May 21, 2009 at 11:40 pm

Hey FIRESWORD, firstly, do you want some sort of high praise for having the 3 most popular players in the comp in your team?
Secondly, that is why not much is spoken about these players on these blogs as they are the players evryone has built their teams around,
Thirdly, does your mum know how drunk you are at the moment?

  19. Chuck Norris

    May 21, 2009 at 11:42 pm

Sorry – I should have said the Houlihan to Grimes trade will finance this – not the Krak>Hall trade

  20. Howie

    May 21, 2009 at 11:50 pm

Sounds good Chuck as long as Big Bad stays fit, he is getting old in the tooth, and as long as he doesnt knock someones head off.
As for Liam anthony, I have him and Otten on the pine and have had all year, his injury seems to be dragging on which makes me think that they may be very cautious with him this year. I hate seeing that spot on my bench being wasted when I could earn some more trading leverage. I had Mitch Robinson there up until the last day of preseason trading. Spewin.
Will be upgrading Otten and Rich when another mid rookie catch eye

If you want to win friends and bag footy, just get stuck into the stadium caterers. There needs to be a strike from the fans. They should all bring their lunches and the caterers can stick that $6.00 cold, lifeless hot dog where the sun dont shine. And shove the $5.00 bucket of tepid chips up the corporate noses – one chip at a time.

Oh and Carro – always bag her.

  34. Westy

    May 22, 2009 at 12:26 am

Firesword, mate, keep trying, what’s your overall position? 20,000? trades left ? 6

    Chuck
Anybody who makes a trade based on third-person hearasy on a blog deserves what they get. My mum’s sister’s nephew said that Skipworth was in Borders yesterday and bought a copy of ‘1001 things to do before you get another game in round 19’

    Firesword,
You’ve got to be joking! Mid best in comp??? pttff. For starters, if you have lockyer and hodge they should be in the backline.
You’re posts just shows how immature you are.

What do people think of the following,…..

Taylor Walker(Adel) or Mitch Brown ( WCE) to Steele Sidebottom. Walkers breakeven is -3 and Browns is 50….. So the numebr suggest Brown on money / break even points but who is the better player ??? Who is gonna play and score mor elong term ?

    Genuine advice please !

  40. Baygo

    May 22, 2009 at 8:05 am

Do people think McGlynn will continue to get a game?? might upgrade Texas Walker to him

  41. Heater

    May 22, 2009 at 8:30 am

@Baygo – IMO I’m not sure that that is an upgrade. McGlynn looks ok but I would have thought there are better players than him out there. Depends on your spare cash & what you plan to do over the next few weeks I suppose.

  42. Howie

    May 22, 2009 at 9:09 am

    @ Steve,
I have the same problem, am leaning towards Mitch brown for a couple of reasons, A)I think Tex will play the entire season at this stage as the Crow forward line is piss B)I know Tex can get some low scores but he has shown he can get a reasonable one(120 odd SC) and Mitch is destined to get 45-55 each and every week, so if you roll the dice and had to play either, you would have a better chance at weekly riches with Tex

  43. Pirece Brosnan

    May 22, 2009 at 9:42 am

gentlemen…its all getting a bit heated…please join me in campaigning to save the environment….

BTW – Dane is as much of a tosser as I am!

  44. Baygo

    May 22, 2009 at 10:19 am

I have a fair bit of cash, might keep Walker and put in McGlynn for Garlett who doesn’t look like getting a game again. I think McGlynn should be a good short term cash cow(BE of 8), and averaging 100 could end up as a 7th forward no worries IF he can hold his spot- noting he is on an extended bench atm

  45. steve

    May 22, 2009 at 10:40 am

Good point Howie about average scores… Whicever one i choose to drop the other one destined to have a big remainder of season !!!! LOL

  46. Royboy

    May 22, 2009 at 11:07 am

Who would you guys upgrade Skipworth to? Stevie J, Chappy or Pav. Reckon Skippys gonna struggle getting a game now the bombers are playing decent footy. Why would they bring a mature age player in when the kids are doing well??

  47. FIRESWORD

    May 22, 2009 at 11:27 am

i traded Skipworth in he is not worth keeping

  48. steve

    May 22, 2009 at 11:39 am

if you have hung onto skipworth until now – you may as well wait until he comes back and plays again !

  49. Milly

    May 22, 2009 at 11:40 am

    Just went
    Hill out for Grimesy
    Houlihan out for Waite
and pocketed nearly 30 grand so i am more than happy with those moves

  50. Ropes

    May 22, 2009 at 12:06 pm

    @ Magoo.

Nic Nat will play in the next 4 weeks.
