Since the national AFL draft has just concluded, now is a good time to update FanFooty’s player databases in preparation for the 2008 season. One of the things I have been doing is figuring out what positions to allocate to each player for the purposes of our 2008 competitions. In 2007 I had only given each player one position, but in 2008 I’ll follow the lead of other comps and allow dual positions. If you’ve got a moment free, please visit the team pages from our 2008 player positions page and leave comments here about what you think should be changed.
In 2008 we are planning to run not only a salary cap competition similar to Dream Team, but also offer free private draft leagues – which is why getting these positions right is very important!
In a first for Australian fantasy, FanFooty is launching a new Projections tool for not only creating your own weekly fantasy point predictions based on historical stats and consensus rankings, but a function to auto-generate an optimised “perfect” lineup for use in weekly and daily fantasy sports!
These are the sort of tools that pros use in American DFS to construct their lineups, and with the rise of DFS in Australia in 2016 FanFooty Projections will become indispensible to the hardcore and the casual fantasy coach! (Note: this feature will become part of this year’s FF Premium product later this year, but for now it’s free.)
