NEWS: Judd is set for his return in Round 21 against Essendon after serving his 4 game suspension. Carlton Coach Brett Ratten said "[Judd] has worked exceptionally hard behind the scenes, he has done extra work and he has done a fair bit of combat physical training as well. From a game point of view... I think he will be up to the speed, so he will just come straight back in and go from there."

NEWS: Judd has been handed a 4 week suspension by the tribunal on Tuesday night for his infamous 'chicken wing' hold on Leigh Adams in Round 16 on the weekend. The Blues are considering their options', with appeals not ruled out.
| ||||
NEWS: The 'chicken wing' hold is the biggest story in the AFL this week. Match Review Panel chairman Mark Fraser told AFL.com.au "We had a discussion amongst the panel about whether it was rough conduct or misconduct and we decided this would probably be best served under misconduct. We thought it was unsportsmanlike in nature. It has the potential to bring the game into disrepute so we thought it would be better served by sending it straight to the tribunal for a verdict. We certainly did (consider grading it) but we thought this wasn't conduct that was covered under the table of offences particularly well so there are other acts of misconduct in the table such as stomping or pinching and spitting."

NEWS: Judd is likely going to be under the microscope by the match review panel next week after an incident on Friday night against North Melbourne in Round 16. North Melbourne player Leigh Adams hit the ground in a tackle by a Carlton player. While he was on the ground in a tackle, Judd seemed to have stood over him and pulled his arm backwards in what is being called a 'chicken wing' hold. Adams left the game after with what seemed to be a shoulder injury.

NEWS: Carlton coach Brett Ratten said "I think (the bye) will do him the world of good. He's trained really well." Ratten said Judd had been dealing with "a few little things" with his body, but the break has been just what he has needed.
| ||||
NEWS: It has recently emerged Judd's poor form may likely have a injury reasoning behind it. He has been undergoing physiotherapy over the past 2 weeks and its suggested this Bye weekend is very important in his recovery. Carlton Coach Brett Ratten said after Friday's loss "He has had to do a fair bit of work to get himself up to play each week. He'll thrive from having a few days off. He's got to work through this part of the injury and take the time to heal. We've got 15 days so that will allow him to get a bit of recovery."

NEWS: West Coast midfielder Scott Selwood who usually plays a negating role on Judd when they play Carlton said."He's probably spending more time in the midfield, which is making the games a little bit harder for him. It does look like he's playing a fair bit through there and not getting a lot of rest down forward. But he's one of those blokes you can never underestimate. He's a fantastic player and he's always rated in the top one or two in the AFL, and rightly so in my eyes.''
