Chris Heffernan, Essendon Midfielder
Injured Heffernan strains groinTue 5/4, 11:42AM
NEWS: Chris Heffernan was pulled out of the round 1 side to face Essendon and will not return until round 3, according to injuryupdate.com.au. ANALYSIS: Heffernan is not a high enough scorer to interest fantasy coaches in all but the largest leagues.

Adam Ramanauskas, Essendon Midfielder
Injured Long-terminjured Ramanauskas' 2005 overTue 14/6, 2:02PM
NEWS: Adam Ramanauskas will not return this season from an injury mishap at training before round 4, according to injuryupdate.com.au. ANALYSIS: After recovering from cancer, Ramanauskas seemingly can't take a trick. He had not figured highly this year in fantasy coaches' thinking in any case.

Nathan Lovett-Murray, Essendon Back
In Lovett-Murray called upThu 31/3, 8:40PM
NEWS: As in 2004, it didn't take long for Nathan Lovett-Murray to be elevated from the rookie list, this time replacing Andrew Lee. Lovett-Murray walked straight into the Bombers side to face Carlton in round 2. ANALYSIS: Lovett-Murray's fantasy production in his 20 games last season did not warrant him getting serious fantasy consideration, however.

Andrew Lee, Essendon Back
Injured Long-terminjured OP puts Lee out of actionThu 31/3, 8:36PM
NEWS: The dreaded chronic groin inury, osteitis pubis, has cost Andrew Lee his place on the Bombers' senior list, with Nathan Lovett-Murray replacing him. ANALYSIS: Lee will not feature in any fantasy coaches' plans this season.

Hayden Skipworth, Essendon Midfielder
Injured Skipworth back in R18?Thu 21/7, 6:51PM
NEWS: Hayden Skipworth will be out until at least round 18 with the hamstring strain he suffered at training before round 15, according to injuryupdate.com.au. ANALYSIS: Skipworth had been putting together an impressive fantasy season with some consistent numbers for a forward. He might have done his dash for 2005, however, so it would be wise to drop him if you can.

James Hird, Essendon Forward
Hot Hird BOG in trial matchThu 17/3, 8:26PM
NEWS: James Hird was adjudged best on ground in the preseason practice match against Geelong, according to Sportal, kicking two goals. ANALYSIS: Hird has so far managed to escape both injury and controversy this year, which makes a change from last year.

Matthew Lloyd, Essendon Forward
Injured Lloyd breaks armThu 17/3, 8:23PM
NEWS: Matthew Lloyd fractured his right ulna in a preseason match against Geelong. Following surgery to insert a plate to stabilise the arm he will be out until at least round 3, according to injuryupdate.com.au. ANALYSIS: This should not stop fantasy coaches drafting Lloyd in the first round, but it will mean they will have to get some cover for him in the first part of the season.

Scott Camporeale, Essendon Midfielder
Campo solid in Wizard GFThu 17/3, 10:20PM
NEWS: Scott Camporeale had a good night in the Wizard Cup grand final, collecting 21 possessions and 5 marks and scoring a goal. ANALYSIS: He will benefit from the form of the rest of the team, and will reward a second-round pick.

Brent Stanton, Essendon Midfielder
Hot Stanton stars on the wingSun 9/7, 7:05PM
NEWS: Brent Stanton had his best game of his young career in round 13 against the Saints, playing the game on the wing and making it for the first time to 25 possessions, adding nine marks and a goal. ANALYSIS: Coach Kevin Sheedy said on 3AW radio after the game that Stanton was one of the Bomber youngsters who he wanted to get some "enjoyment" out of this year, and hinted he would play for the rest of the year. For a young player, Stanton's last seven games have been surprisingly consistent, making him a sleeper candidate for fantasy teams.

Dean Rioli, Essendon Forward
Rioli contributes to Don winSun 9/7, 7:05PM
NEWS: Dean Rioli may have collected only 15 disposals and four tackles himself in the round 13 win over the Saints, but talkback opinion on 3AW radio was that he "did the one-percenters" and handed off several goals. ANALYSIS: Rioli may have pleased his coach and fans on that performance, but for fantasy coaches they'd want him to be a bit more selfish to get them interested.

Nathan Lovett-Murray, Essendon Back
Best yet for Lovett-MurraySun 9/7, 7:05PM
NEWS: Nathan Lovett-Murray had his first 20-game possession in his career in round 13 against St Kilda, finishing with 21 touches and four tackles as one of many young Bombers who played well on the night. ANALYSIS: Lovett-Murray seems to have recovered from the knock he took in the previous game against West Coast. Coach Kevin Sheedy will likely give the young Dons more game time and more responsibility this season, so Lovett-Murray is not without some fantasy interest.

David Hille, Essendon Ruck
Rock solid again from HilleSun 9/7, 7:05PM
NEWS: While David Hille was beaten in the ruck by Cain Ackland in round 13 against the Saints, he did win 16 hit-outs of his own and managed a very handy 18 disposals and nine marks. ANALYSIS: After missing the first seven rounds and taking a couple of games to get back into it, Hille has strung four good games together. He is very much safe to play in fantasy teams.

Damian Cupido, Essendon Forward
Two goals for CupidoSun 9/7, 7:05PM
NEWS: Damian Cupido kicked the sealer in the round 13 win over St Kilda and had one other goal from his 11 touches. ANALYSIS: Cupido's production does not meet fantasy coach's expectations, and thus he is unlikely to find his way into their teams even if he stays in the Enssendon lineup.

Matthew Lloyd, Essendon Forward
Four straight for LloydSun 9/7, 7:05PM
NEWS: Matthew Lloyd had only his third four-goal haul of the season in round 13 against St Kilda, marking the ball eight times with a total of 12 disposals. ANALYSIS: His Essendon team-mates did the right thing and won Lloyd's milestone 200th game. As for Lloyd himself, he is not the dominant player he once was but he still deserves a spot in fantasy teams.

Brent Prismall, Essendon Midfielder
Injured Long-terminjured Geelong vs St Kilda, R23 of 2008 by m0ntySun 7/9, 5:40PM
