that’s a good question about cover. of those i would lean towards the geelong pair as goddard (who is a gun) is pretty damn expensive and hodge has not yet shown form and could possibly drop in price further. but you won’t go wrong with any of the 4, it’s just a money issue.
what do people think of Sam Fisher????

  8. Morro

    May 7, 2009 at 6:22 pm

i really need help. traded hille out last week for a rookie, used the cash to buy quality elsewhere leaving meesen on the field. he’s gone, need a replacement. would prefer to not spend much. put simply, mumford or angus graham from richmond?

  9. facebum

    May 7, 2009 at 6:24 pm

    May 7, 2009 at 6:24 pm

    Is Grimes gonna play?

  11. Nick

    May 7, 2009 at 6:25 pm

I’m thinking Houlihan was dropped to bring in Hampson so Kreuzer and Cloke didn’t get thumped by Sandliands.

    May 7, 2009 at 6:25 pm

    whats carazzos injury extent?

  13. Scuzzlebut

    May 7, 2009 at 6:32 pm

Houligan isn’t even an emergency. that’s weird.

  17. aza03

    May 7, 2009 at 6:40 pm

  18. detau

    May 7, 2009 at 6:41 pm

    great….

ablett & hartlett not playing with anthony and beams as my emergencies…who to go?

also houlihan, broughton & raines not playing

so as it stands i’m playing 3 men down…

don’t know what beams injury status is?

    don’t know when hartlett back?

maybe i should drop ablett for bartel?

    and beams for coughlan?

any one else still holiding raines?

  19. Gor

    May 7, 2009 at 6:41 pm

finally Birchall comes back in so I think I have a full strength backline, only to see Houlihan gone!! FFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-

  20. aza03

    May 7, 2009 at 6:44 pm

who would be a better replacement for walker out of macaffer and sidebottom?? considering macaffer may lose his spot to didak and sidebottom may not even play this week

im leaning towards macaffer at the moment, but if sidebottom plays he will probably score more highly.

  21. jb

    May 7, 2009 at 6:45 pm

Thats why HURN was always gonna be a better pick than HOULIHAN, similar points but Egirls will never drop him unless badly injured.

  22. jp

    May 7, 2009 at 6:45 pm

    ive got a dilemma

i wanna put a young forward in my line up but cant decide between these three, cockie, macaffer and yarran

    any thoughts?

  23. Chad

    May 7, 2009 at 6:46 pm

Well davenport in is nice, be good to see how he goes. My worry is bock on an extended interchange bench, surely he wouldn’t be dropped?

May be looking at my first donut in mids with Robinson, beams and gablett. Beams back next week hopefully.

Houlihan might screw a few people over, so that is good for me.

  24. wacko

    May 7, 2009 at 6:46 pm

    @ morro
sounds like you are in deep strife mate. I was in the same position when hille got injured but traded him for kreuzer (for cash and around 80 average)Graham and mumford are possibilities but will score fairly average all year IMO. Tom Bellchambers could be alright as he will be filling in for hille but not sure how he will score or many games he will get this year. How much cash have you got to spend and do you need to make this trade this week?

  25. subilax

    May 7, 2009 at 6:51 pm

yeah still holding onto raines. i have houlihan, raines, cheney and broughton. all look to have huge potential but i cant keep affording these donuts. broughton comes back from an ankle injury to play for subiaco this week so he is a little away. houlihan surely will be back next week and i need cheney to possibly cover a donut this week. I think its time to get rid of raines, apparently he didnt play well for reserves and with the plentiful yet mediocre depth of richmond i think he is the one to go…. who would you trade for, money is no issue

  26. Charlie

    May 7, 2009 at 6:55 pm

Some of you guys need to listen to yourselves.

You have donuts. So you talk about trading in guys who a no way guaranteed a spot for long (McCaffer, Sidey etc). That’s just creating another headache in a fortnight for the sake of covering a donut this week, plus you burn a trade in the process.

Some times, when the obvious, safe, quality alternative is not there, you’ve just gotta take the donut and forget the round. Beams and Hartlett both ran drills this week – strong chance to only be out a week each.

Those who run out of trade by round 17 are the people unable cop the odd donut when they need to.

  27. wacko

    May 7, 2009 at 6:56 pm

does anyone know how likely cheney is to play? What is his current form in the seconds? I need that little ginga-ninja to start making me some more money.
WTF Houlihan. You better be playing next week…I know where you live

  28. jathkel

    May 7, 2009 at 6:57 pm

    Exactly right Charlie

  29. Turks

    May 7, 2009 at 6:57 pm

what the fuck brett ratten you bad bloke

  30. subilax

    May 7, 2009 at 7:03 pm

cheney played pretty well for the reserves, but probably not quite well enough to cement a side in the team…

  31. Nick

    May 7, 2009 at 7:08 pm

Ratten is punishing Houlihan for not chasing hard enough against Hawthorn.

  32. Howie

    May 7, 2009 at 7:11 pm

What does Spencer have to get in the ruck for Melbourne, I need some cash from him so as he can then bite the dust
Ryan”the Hoop” Houlihan was not dropped for Hampson, are you serious? Hampson came in for big Setant and Hadley is a welcome return for the injured Carazzo and Austin(another tall backman) is being trialed in place of Houlihan. Dont know where the Hoop fits in to Carltons premiership tilt, sometimes he looks hesitant and slow even though he has got some polished skills with his feet.
Will Bench the Hoop for a couple of weeks and see what the Blues do with him, may have to upgrade him to Hodge although his scores are below par at the moment, may even trade him for Grimesy and pocket some coin

  33. PIESBOY

    May 7, 2009 at 7:14 pm

Gee another big week that will divide a lot of teams. If you think you’re out of the running for the car cos you’re outside the top 1,000 – think again – this week will have huge ramifications.

Watch Cox and Bartel go down this week ;P

  34. George

    May 7, 2009 at 7:17 pm

Well this is a going to be a good week
    Raines wtf?
    Broughton, get a game!
Petrenko might not even get picked!
    Ablett gone for 2-3
    Harlett gone for 1
    Robinson is a stinker
    Anthony still another couple away
    Houlihan wtf?
And i was planning on tading out skippy to buddy this week as he is gunna carve essendon, and hes dirt cheap.

  35. Ingoes

    May 7, 2009 at 7:22 pm

The thing that is really showering me is that I LISTENED to the ‘don’t get carried away trading too early’ advice twice – first when I resisted turfing Raines after round 1, and again when I didn’t bring in Rance when he was on his bubble for Grima, who will clearly be delisted at year’s end and play in the SANFL next year where he evidently belongs – I learnt a lot about how I’ll use fanfooty next year this year – employ the resources, ignore the opinion. Now I have Raines and Grima where I could have Rance and Cheney, and if I had the latter fricken Houlihan wouldn’t wory me as much. As it is I fully expect Petrenko to get the a’hole and I will chomp down two greasy doughnuts in my backline this week.

I also just bought Gablett – but that’s another story…

  36. Fishy

    May 7, 2009 at 7:27 pm

Richo and Beams > Deledio and Coughlan for me this week.

I’m sweet as long as Petrenko get’s a start, but looking at the Crow’s bench, I’m not sure…

Things just got a whole lot more interesting!!! =D

  37. Oslo Ed

    May 7, 2009 at 7:28 pm

where the heckfire is Andrew Raines.. it’s just not fair, i’ve hung onto him for so long..

  38. Charlie

    May 7, 2009 at 7:28 pm

Rumors Bock did a hammy today – local Adelaide radio…needs confirmation.

  39. bucket

    May 7, 2009 at 7:40 pm

What do people think of Rich? Has he hit celing price? Thinking of trading him for Coughlan making 100k, and Skipworth for Buddy. Then the tading money made from Couglin in two weeks and buy Cooney. Will still have dud Walker on bench. Already used 8 trades & only 150k in the bank.

  40. Army

    May 7, 2009 at 8:09 pm

Not to be picky at all but it says Tom Williams emergency for Essendon. Who is this really?

  41. Pete

    May 7, 2009 at 8:16 pm

got hoops, greenwood, broughton, raines down back. gablett, beams, anthoney in the middle.
wanted to trade out mitch brown this week to up grade dempsey to hodge but now i dont know.
mite trade beams for cockie from WCE and still do the upgrade and just take two donuts down back.

  42. gomaz84

    May 7, 2009 at 8:19 pm

bucket your going to run outta trades!!! leave skippy, may be back next week. and just relax on cogs, chances are he could be a keeper(def not worth trading for cooney either!!)

  43. WorstDreamTeamer4Life

    May 7, 2009 at 8:25 pm

    AHAHAAHAHAAHAhaahaHAHAhahaha never had houlihan!

  44. Matt

    May 7, 2009 at 8:26 pm

Spencer is injured for melb he hurt his foot at training.

  45. Shane

    May 7, 2009 at 8:28 pm

bloody typical, first big score last week (2334 and 31st overall) and Ratten drops Houla, Petrenko, Dangerfield and Beams all out or potentially out. Beams for Coughlan, Houla for Mackie or cop a donut. Only have 11 trades left,

  46. Toolavich

    May 7, 2009 at 8:31 pm

All looks good my end…Houlihan to the bench….Suban on field..no biggy..Rats punishing Houlihan for being a front runner. He will be back in 2 weeks tops when Ryan maybe finds a heart muscle!

    Sidebottom a chance for a game…Finally!…more $$$$ on the way..bring it on.

  47. Pete

    May 7, 2009 at 8:32 pm

@ bucket: I am looking to take cooney in 2-3 weeks as well when he plays himself into some form and is back up to 80-90% TOG. by then cooney should almost be a straight trade from rich which if cooney start tearing up and gets the form that won him the brownlow will be worth 2 trades in one.

  48. tim

    May 7, 2009 at 8:33 pm

Shane – cop the donut idiot, Beams and houli back next week. It’ll cost you 70pts this week. YOU NEED THE TRADES!

  49. steven

    May 7, 2009 at 8:34 pm

    What do people think…..
Walker for Warren – (Forward) if so will then afford Houhilan for Hodge

    Or
Beams – Coghlan and Walker to Warren or someone else….

Hodge is due and Houhilan out has fu$ked me big time !!!!!!

Sound Advice please would be very much appreciated

  50. Nick`

    May 7, 2009 at 8:46 pm

Go walker for McCaffer (not great job security but looks to hold his spot for at least two more weeks)

I wouldn’t go houlihan for Hodge though, Houlihan will get straight back into the side next week same with Beams.
