The Suns try a short kick in to the BP, that works but Smith roves the kick smothered by Stewart in the BP and gives to Gunston who goals from 35m on the flank. (Q1 3:18)
Gunston strips Leslie in a tackle in the pocket after a hospital handball by Ablett, Puopolo roves and gives to O’Brien for a miss. (Q1 4:33)
Barlow misses a set shot from the HFF after a Gold Coast rebound. (Q1 6:17)
Ablett converts a set shot from 45m on a slight angle for the first Gold Coast major after Gibson is pinged for HTB following two Suns falling on him. (Q1 10:33)
Henderson snaps a goal after a stoppage in the pocket, allowed a bit too much time to measure the kick from 30m on the boundary. (Q1 14:03)
Lynch dribbles across the face from the pocket on a turnover play, Burton escorted it over the behind line. (Q1 16:16)
Howe gives to Roughead for a miss at the hotspot, after Saad and Hanley chased down Smith to beat him to a loose ball for what looked like a certain score. (Q1 23:04)

Matera plays on to advantage into the open goal after Howe is pinged for a hold on Martin 20m out waiting for an Ainsworth inside 50 kick. (Q1 26:05)
Barlow stands tall to beat Whitecross one on one and mark a quick Lemmens ball from the HFF to 20m out on a slight angle. He goals to start Q2. (Q2 0:46)
Barlow has another chance with a running snap from 40m on a slight angle, but hits the post. (Q2 2:26)
Lynch goes quickly from the HFF after a Burton turnover, Wright marks easily over Duryea at the top of the square and goals as well. (Q2 2:48)
Burgoyne intercepts a Leslie kick 50m out on the flank, and misses. (Q2 7:06)
Saad chips in front of Whitecross to intercept a short Howe ball to the Sun hotspot, but he misses. (Q2 13:50)
Hall passes to Martin on the HFF, his pass goes to ground but Sexton gives to Matera who tries his luck from the pocket 25m out… just shaves the left goalpost. (Q2 15:39)
It’s ugly, but Sicily roves a Roughead contest and gives to Mitchell who goals from 20m just before getting tackled. (Q2 20:01)
Stewart marks on the goal line for a red time goal nearing HT after a nice run and long kick from Henderson from the HFF following a turnover in midfield. (Q2 25:21)
Lynch leaps and marks strongly in front of Brand 35m out in front with less than half a minute to go to the main break. He makes no mistake, a steadier for the Suns. (Q2 26:48)
Howe sends a chaos ball from the HFF to the pocket, Gunston bumps off Leslie from the fall but can’t get his shot on line from near the behind post. (Q3 1:33)
The Suns rebound quickly from the kick in, Lemmens marks a Lynch ball 45m out on a slight angle and kicks the first goal of Q3. Ominous sign for the listless and undermanned Hawks. (Q3 2:34)

Lyons is somehow able to mark a long Witts ball without a man within five yards at the hotspot on a slow rebound around the outer wing. He goals, Hawks in disarray. (Q3 9:28)
Ablett gets a free in a big pack at the hotspot, for a hold by Duryea after GAJ fakes a loose ball get. The little master goals to the tune of Hawk fan boos. (Q3 11:45)
Gunston marks a Sicily ball on the lead 35m out on the flank after Roughead starts an attack from CHB. He goals, two for him. (Q3 13:57)
Martin snaps truly from the hotspot after roving his own contest to a long Hall ball with Burton and keeping his feet. (Q3 17:51)
Roughead gives away a 50m penalty to put Willis 45m out on a slight angle, but the backman kicks like one, no score. (Q3 18:57)
The Hawks can’t clear the HBF from the resulting play, Ablett hits the post from 40m on the flank. (Q3 19:44)
Lynch passes to Matera 40m out on a slight angle for another one. It’s a bit of a procession, really. (Q3 21:11)
Rosa feeds Matera for another miss from mid range after yet another Hawthorn turnover in the back half. (Q3 23:17)

Smith gets a junk time goal after a stoppage at half forward, he is outside of the big pack to goal from 15m in the pocket. (Q3 27:45)
McEvoy uses his height and bulk to stand in front of a pack 20m out on a slight angle to mark and goal. (Q3 29:45)
Lyons marks in front of Burgoyne 30m out on the flank and misses. (Q3 31:30)
O’Brien catches Leslie HTB 15m out in front for the first goal of Q4. Surely not… (Q4 0:44)
Whitecross kicks to the HFF where Henderson gathers and tries his luck from the boundary 40m… across the face. (Q4 2:20)
O’Brien marks unopposed from a Sicily ball up the guts to 35m out. He goals, Hawks all over the Suns all of a sudden. (Q4 6:45)
Saad misses off the right from the hotspot. (Q4 9:16)
O’Brien gathers a Hartung ball in the pocket and starts a chain of handballs, the Sun defenders make them earn it but Gunston is last man in the chain for the goal from the line! (Q4 15:45)
Langford passes to Gunston hard on the left boundary 20m out. Gunston tries a set shot screwing ball, and delivers for his third goal. Hawks are definitely coming! (Q4 18:15)
Hall bounces through midfield and goes long to Ainsworth who beats Duryea one on one to mark strongly 20m out on the flank. The kid misses but it’s a 50m penalty against Brand! (Q4 18:30)
Ainsworth makes no mistake with the second shot from the line. (Q4 18:30)
Swallow’s highly pressured kick from the BP is intercepted by Burgoyne 40m out on the flank. Junior doesn’t score, though. (Q4 24:00)
Witts starts a rebound from the ensuing stoppage, the Suns use overlap handball to run straight up the guts, Wright marks at the hotspot and boots the sealer with 4:00 to go. (Q4 24:54)
Stewart passes to the lead of Gunston near the boundary 35m out. He rushes the set shot as he knows the time situation, but goals anyway. (Q4 27:46)
Lyons misses from a stoppage in the pocket. (Q4 30:16)
