Hot Gumbleton returns with a bangESN - Sun 15/7, 11:24PM
NEWS: Gumbleton has not played AFL football since round 18, 2010 but amazingly had 14 possessions, 5 marks and kicked 3 goals in his return in Round 16 against Port Adelaide. Essendon coach James Hird said "I'm pleased, not as pleased as he is - don't worry, there's a lot of relief on Scott Gumbleton's face. We played him not knowing what we were going to get. We're just very happy for him ... for this football club that was a remarkable result out there. He competed, he contested, he wasn't the best player on the ground by any stretch of the imagination, but he showed he's going to be a very good player."

NEWS: Gumbleton was dealt a blow in the VFL that left him with minor concussion and needing stitches. Bombers football manager Paul Hamilton told AFL.com.au "My report was that he had a couple of stitches, it was quite a number, something like 12, but I haven't had that confirmed yet. He just had to get stitched up and he might have been a touch groggy. He might have some minor concussion, that's probably the term."
