| NEWS: Sad news has come out of Carlton camp today that Sam Rowe has recently been diagnosed with stage one testicular cancer. In a statement released on Thursday, Carlton said "The tumour has been removed and Sam will now undergo chemotherapy for six weeks to ensure a complete cure." Rowe is unlikely to feature again this season. | ||||

| NEWS: On the weekend at lower level Northern Blues coach Robert Hyde suggested Rowe "played quite well and it gives Carlton another tall bloke to look at it.'' If the weekend was any indication to go on, Carlton administration directed Hyde not to put Rowe back on the ground after three quarter time. | ||||

| NEWS: Sam Rowe has been mentioned as having a comparable impact to Nick Duigan since joining Carlton in the pre-season. He has excellent maturity and voice as a mature age recruit. He is working extremely hard over the pre-season for an opportunity. Rowe was on the Sydney Swans rookie list for two years between 2005 and 2007, but wasn't given an opportunity. He went to play for Norwood in the SANFL, having a very successful few years. At 198 cm and 24 years old, he has been brought in to see what he can do now. He has hurt his ac joint falling at training recently. His arm is in a sling but no surgery is needed and is only expected to be off the track for a week. Cash Cow Potential: High.
