NEWS: Jacobs could easily be the difference maker in the upcoming Showdown this weekend with Port not having an established Ruck option and being smashed in clearances early this year. Port Adelaide Captain, Dom Cassisi said "Jacobs has been outstanding, he's given the Crows first look of the footy ... a lot of the time this year. We need to plan for that really well."

NEWS: Scott Thompson from the Adelaide Crows believes "he (Jacobs) covers the ground well, reads the game well and he can be one of these ruckmen like a Dean Cox I think, that can be really dangerous around the ground, not only in the ruck." Jacobs put in a strong final performance on the weekend in the Ruck and even drifted forward to kick a goal. We do not question Jacobs explosiveness, but worry about his quiet games scoring in the 60s.

NEWS: We hear a lot of chat about the new upside Ruck on the market for 2012, but can he average 100+ a game? He is certainly capable of going over 100 a game doing it 6-8 times in both formats of the game in 2011. His consistency is a concern with to many 60s to go with his big 100s. We certainly think he has upside at a young age of 23 years, but it may be more realistic to go with the heavyweight reliable options of Cox, Leuenberger & Sandilands. Save a spot for Jacobs. If he looks the real deal early, then bring him in to team up with one of the others. | This is a 2012 outlook article.
