| NEWS: After a horror 2010 season with a broken leg, the pick No. 17 in the 2008 NAB AFL Draft has slowly grown back into a role with the club playing 5 games in 2011 and 16 games in 2012. He is set for a big year in 2013 but does carry the injury in games saying "I always get it taped and always have my ankles taped. I ice it up after every game - it's just precautionary. Week to week I don't really notice it too much. I've been able to manage it with the docs and physios, and the treatment I got early on has set me up to play at a point in time where there was a chance of never coming back from it. But I put all the work in with the physios and the docs and the fitness guys and I haven't had too much trouble with it." | ||||

He recently said "Definitely the endurance side of the game is something I need to improve on. I have been a short distance athlete all my life. I have got an OK fitness base at the moment [but I've] just still got so much work to do. That is why I am really looking forward to this pre-season and really having a crack and getting as fit as I can." Melbourne coach Mark Neeld said "He'll be a good one, I think," Neeld said before round 15. "He's going to be OK." Watch out for Blease in coming years. | ||||
