Injured Wallis sore not omittedESN - Tue 3/7, 5:33PM
NEWS: Wallis was showing signs of fatigue and illness and was ot dropped from the side. He is expected to suit up against Fremantle in Round 15. Western Bulldogs coach Brendan McCartney said "Like most clubs we have a recovery monitoring system and, as a young player, [Wallis] was reporting significant soreness in muscles that, when they break, it's three or four weeks out, and early signs of some illness. When you get tired and rundown, something breaks. For that reason, him, Ayce [Cordy] and Mark Austin all had a week off. This isn't the first time we've done it and it won't be the last because young people just can't play a full season, unfortunately. Some young players, no matter how well we monitor and document it, [in] seven days they just don't recover [because] they're still recovering from the stress of the previous week."
