NEWS: 20 disposals and 6 marks with 6 tackles and 0.1... enjoyed himself in Q4 junk time
| ||||
NEWS: Clarke said on Friday "I don't think I'm in a position to be saying I've cemented my position in this team at all, no way. Every week I'm learning a bit more and every training I'm asking more questions and starting to feel more comfortable again."
| ||||
NEWS: 20 touches and 6 marks. Had ice on his right arm during HT.
| ||||
NEWS: 19 disposals and 4 marks with 2 tackles
| ||||
NEWS: Clarke made some mistakes but he also did some very skilful things as well, and was not disgraced in his first match in 2 years at AFL level. He is excited to be back playing AFL and knows this is where he wants to be.

NEWS: Responsible for Whitecross... 13 disposals and 4 tackles with 4 marks

NEWS: Collingwood gave up quite a lot to get the Irish listed again, handing over pick #25 in the national draft to GWS. Why would they do this you ask? They are obviously close to winning the flag and think he has a role to play. He is a rebounding half back flanker, so we assume he will take Leon Davis's role. He has been 2 years out of the game (playing Gaelic football mind you). When he began his AFL career in 2007 as a 19 year old, he didn't get named in the seniors until Round 12. Given the circumstances and his experience though, it seems they will roll the dice with him come Round 1, after playing well in the final NAB Cup round. Cash Cow Proposition: Clarke is a left foot, endurance running, forward tagging, Irish. His final hitout in the NAB Cup last week was rewarded with 86% Game Time and a likely spot in the Best 21. All aboard. | This is a 2012 outlook article.

NEWS: Heath Shaw has spoken positively about Clarke. He believes "Marty is elite in his endurance, and these days, with the sub rule, you need fairly good endurance athletes. He'll squeeze in there very nicely and him being one of the best runners at the club is going to help us."
| ||||
NEWS: In the 3rd Round of the NAB Cup against Adelaide, Clarke showed enough across the half back line to suggest he is still in contention for a Round 1 debut. He finished with 55 points, playing a full game, made good decisions and he was calm under pressure.
| ||||
NEWS: Clarke was subbed into the game after half time and finished with only 6 possessions and 12 Dream Team points. Returning from a hamstring injury he didn't get much opportunity and we likely need a full game from him before the season begins.
| ||||
NEWS: Clarke has been suffering from a hamstring injury over the past few weeks, but is training in full now and we would expect to see him in a NAB Cup match soon.
