NEWS: Mark LeCras will play at least one of Saturday night's NAB Cup matches against Fremantle and Geelong at Patersons Stadium in his anticipated return from a knee reconstruction. 'Lecca' will play in at least one of the games, maybe both," coach John Worsfold said on Monday. "He's been doing all our match simulation and game plan drills for a month now ... we've had our equivalent of intraclub games and he's played in those."
| ||||
NEWS: LeCras will not be making a late season comeback to help West Coast in the finals this year. Senior coach John Worsfold said "If he was going to play we would now be stepping up his program in terms of lateral movement and body contact, but we have made the decision against taking that risk. The risk was just too great. We expect Mark to have a very long career with us and we did not want to take the risk."

NEWS: LeCras was involved in agility drills, sprinting, change-of-direction work and goal kicking on Monday at training and amazingly people are beginning to believe. Teammate Sam Butler said after training "He reckons he'll be back, but you have to keep a positive mindset I suppose. If you're out there running around and not doing it for any reason it can get quite monotonous. He's set himself a goal and it helps him with his rehab and helps his mindset. Any small problem he has is going to rule him out, so he has to be careful, but at the same time he has to throw caution to the wind. Historically it has taken 12 months to get back from what he's had and he's trying to do it in six to eight, so he has to go for it. If anyone can do it, he can."

NEWS: LeCras ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in pre-season and most suggested it was good night season for the 25 year old half forward. But West Coast Coach John Worsfold said on Access All Areas, exclusive to AFL.com.au that"There's no doubt he could play late in the season. But it would be a very high risk."

NEWS: Lecras has ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. He twisted his knee awkwardly at training and has unfortunately been told the worst news he could have possibly heard!
