Dahlhaus had been voted best on ground by both his coach Brendan McCartney and Mark Neeld in the AFL Coaches' Association Champion Player award. He won 23 possessions, which 10 of them were contested, but his attack on the football, relentless tackling and chasing and hitting the scoreboard were the main things that stood out.
