NEWS: It was already suspected that Anthony was going to play a defensive role in 2012, as he attempts to adapt to the team dynamics. In the final Round of the NAB Cup he played a tagging role on Chris Judd and kept him to 14 possessions. Brad Scott believes "he has trained all pre-season as a defender and we've worked hard on teaching him the defensive side of the game and he has really improved in that area. We think he can be a complete player if he gets that right,"
| ||||
NEWS: Anthony has made a shift into defence in pre-season after struggling to hold a position in the young and upcoming midfield, with the likes of Jack Ziebell and Ryan Bastinac being far more disciplined and running both ways. Brad Scott has criticized Anthony for being too offensive and not playing team football. Anthony is talking the lingo in pre-season and is eying a half back role this year.

NEWS: In the 3rd Round of the NAB Cup, Anthony was named Best on Ground against the Western Bulldogs and is clearly keen to hold a spot in the teams Best 22.

NEWS: Anthony's efficiency and decision making are horrendous. So although he may be a talented ball winner, and racks up huge fantasy scores on certain days, he is never a walk up start. Keep away from him in fantasy land. He carries too much risk with efficiency, durability and consistency. | This is a 2012 outlook article.

NEWS: On the weekend against Gold Coast in Nth Melbournes round 12 clash, Anthony collected 14 kicks, 7 handballs, 10 marks, 3 tackles & 3 goals for 116DT/94SC. It doesn't surprise us that he had a huge game against one of the bottom sides in the competition. Most who did own him pre-season would have dropped him and it is not recommended to target him for the remainder of the season as job security is an issue.

NEWS: 21 touches and 10 marks plus 3.2 | Anthony also had 3 tackles.

NEWS: We already know that Anthony can accumulate a ton of points. We found that out last year. But his disposal is questionable at times & clearly his coach is not afraid to wield the axe. Against Adelaide he had 26 possessions, 8 marks, 4 tackles & 2 goals for 123DT/113SC.

NEWS: 26 touches and 8 marks with 4 tackles and 2.0

NEWS: Anthony has been a huge disappointment this season. Most looked at him preseason including Elite Sports News as a well undervalued star, who had an injury riddled 2010, which left his price quite low. In reverse he has been the king of the clanger, in & out of the side on performance issues & well below par in scoring. On Saturday against Sydney he finished with 9 kicks & 8 handballs for 66DT/62SC.

NEWS: 17 touches and 4 tackles with 2 marks and 0.1

NEWS: Anthony had 29 possessions, 5 tackles, & 1 goal on the weekend in the VFL, which is a great sign that he is taking his dropping as an opportunity to improve & grow. Expect a return to the senior list very soon as he is a ball magnet, but needs to concentrate on his clanger count
