| NEWS: Casboult has been quickly elevated off the Rookie list to play as the Number 1 Ruck after Matthew Kreuzer, the last of Carlton's Ruck options on the senior list went down with a hip injury. Carlton assistant coach John Barker said from Visy Park on Friday "He's an exciting young player and I think there's going to be great energy come out of the guy. He's a bit of a character around the club who the boys love. In terms of preparing for this role he's been doing some extra work with the ruck guys and he does have a ruck background, so it's not like it's a foreign position to him. He's looking forward to it. We don't want to give him too many instructions, especially given it's his first game. We want him to go out there and enjoy it and play on a bit more instinct rather than cripple him with too much instruction." | ||||

| NEWS: Casboult is a key position forward who has been playing for the Northern Bullants at lower level for several years and yet to debut with the club. He is a intriguing player at 198 cm and able to also pinch hit in the Ruck. He is strong in one on one contests and can take a solid mark. His early career is scared by a 2009 incident which also included the suspension of some high profile Carlton players. It was quite simply an initiation process gone wrong in which Casboult had his arms strapped to a senior member of the clubs arms and had to match the senior member drink for drink. It led to a car accident and the AFL asking Carlton to explain.
