NEWS: Football Operations General Manager Phil Harper said "Given Kurt's recent concussion issues he has had little time to consider his future. He wants to focus solely on performing on-field to the best of his ability before considering his future later in the year, and to ensure that the matter does not became a distraction to him or anyone at the club in the lead-up to and during the finals. Therefore the Club and Kurt's management have agreed to resume discussions at season's end. The Adelaide Football Club had an exceptional offer in front of Kurt - and Kurt and his management acknowledge this - but Kurt has made it clear he will not make any decision until the season is finished.

NEWS: Tippett has been withdrawn from Round 20 against Fremantle on Friday by club doctors based on testing with his concussion. Crows football operations general manager Phil Harper said: "As the Club has stated all along, Kurt will only resume playing once he has been given the all clear by the Club doctor. While Kurt has trained extremely well in the past two weeks - and feels 100% well - the Club doctor is yet to be convinced that his recovery is fully complete, based on a variety of tests. It is expected that his recovery will be complete soon to allow Kurt to resume playing. Club doctor Andrew Potter would like to reiterate that all the testing has cleared Kurt of any long-term effects on his health. While this may be considered a conservative approach from the outside, the Club is determined to continue to put Kurt's health as its prime consideration."

NEWS: Tippett is a chance to return in Round 20 for Adelaide this weekend as he continues to train with the main group. The club's medical team will decide later in the week on whether they will risk playing him.

NEWS: AFL medical officers association (AFLMOA) executive officer Hugh Seward recently said in regards to concussion that "Tailoring management on a case by case basis is imperative, with the over-riding principle being that no player returns to play until fully recovered. There is no scientific evidence to support a blanket rule of three concussions requiring a designated period of rest or retirement. The practice of a mandated disqualification period from future play based on an arbitrary number of concussions would result in under-reporting of mild concussions by players, which would place player welfare at risk. It is an individual assessment that determines each case.''

NEWS: Adelaide coach Brenton Sanderson said after ruling Tippett out for Saturday's match against Geelong at Simonds Stadium "We remain really positive. That's what Kurt's doing and that's what we're doing. I'm sure we're going to see him back really soon and hopefully that's next week (against Essendon). There is a lot of hysteria around at the moment and a lot of people who want to put their two-bobs' worth in - as we assumed that they would - and I know we keep calling people externally until we get really bad news but he's fine, he's recovering really well."

NEWS: Tippett suffered his 3rd concussion in 5 weeks, and the Crows will likely rest him this week and bring him back in Round 19. Crows coach Brenton Sanderson told Melbourne radio station SEN on Tuesday morning "We're taking it very slowly. He's on his way to Melbourne either today or tomorrow to visit a neurosurgeon who specialises in sporting concussions. He's Australia's leading researcher in that field, and we're just going to get some information from him. It's important to get as much information as we can to make the correct decision with Kurt. My gut feeling is that he wouldn't play this week, but he'd certainly play the week after. But then again, I'm just the coach, and I've got to listen to the medical team. We're confident that Kurt's going to be fine. We probably should think the worst, but we're certainly not doing that at this stage."

NEWS: Tippett is unlikely to play in Round 17 against Geelong but past that is still undecided. Crows football operations general manager Phil Harper said "Any decision on when Kurt returns to play will be made once he has recovered from this current episode. Kurt's health is a priority and our doctors will look after that side of it." Tippett last night wrote on his Twitter account: "Thank you to everyone for your best wishes. My head doesn't feel too bad today. Looking forward to shaking this off and getting back into it."

NEWS: Tippett went down again in Round 17 against West Coast in the 2nd quarter and was subbed out of the game in the 3rd quarter. Adelaide coach Brenton Sanderson said "It's not really my call and we'll have to consult with the medicos this week. We'll probably get a lot of advice I reckon externally this week and we'll probably have to filter a lot of that stuff. Our docs are fantastic, they'll make a good call, they'll make the correct call and I'm sure that by sort of Wednesday or Thursday we'll be a lot clearer about what happens from here."
