Hot Russell to benefit from Carlton's injury listESN - Mon 26/3, 2:01PM
NEWS: Carlton are missing a handful of their best defenders and it seems Russell has an opportunity early in the season to show that he still deserves a spot in the Best 22. Brett Ratten said on Monday that "it's another season so they can really change perceptions, or change the landscape around them with regard to how they're perceived, with how they perform in 2012."

Cold Russell keen to get back on the horseESN - Fri 10/2, 9:16AM
NEWS: He had a shocking season last year. To think he was Runner Up in the Best and Fairest count for his club in 2010. A rebounding half back flanker. He was a vital piece of cheese in Carlton land. Then along came Yarran, Duigan & Laidler and Russell felt the pinch. Add on top of that a few injuries and you have yourself a career worst season. We suspect getting back to his best may be more challenging than his pre-season statements. Talk is cheap.
