NEWS: Bartel is undeniably a huge talent. A great leader for Geelong, he could have quite easily been wearing the Captain helmet this year as well. Pre-season form suggests he is ready for a huge season. On the weekend in the 2nd round of the NAB Cup he collected 26 possessions, 7 marks, 7 tackles and 3 goals for 147 Dream Team points.

NEWS: He slotted into the G Ablett pocket when resting, and it certainly converted into more goals for the season. Unfortunately it came at the expense of possessions and his average slid in 2011. We don't think he is of the 115 average calibre anymore, but is certainly a solid and popular choice. He would certainly have confidence going into the season after his Norm Smith Grand Final heroics. We think advance with caution. At 28 years of age, his upside is thinning. | This is a 2012 outlook article.

NEWS: Bartel was sensational. He deserved ever bit of the Norm Smith. All game he kick started the Geelong offense when it went flat with pieces of class to keep them in the game.
