Injured Schulz cleared to playESN - Thu 26/7, 9:36AM
NEWS: Specialists recently confirmed the clot was breaking down and would not get any worse. Schulz could still be 2-3 weeks from selection though. This would mean a return to the seniors in Round 20-21. Port Adelaide general manager football Peter Rohde said: "Jay's got the specialist's medical all clear, but he's got to do some training and convince our club doctors and coaches that he's fit and ready to play. Jay is recovering really well and it will great for him to play a few more games this season. But we've said all along that we won't take any chances with this injury and we all need to be certain that he's ready from both an injury and fitness point of view."

Injured Schulz still has hope of returningESN - Fri 13/7, 4:49PM
NEWS: Schulz still hopes he can return in season 2012 for several games as he recovers from injury. He recently said "If my bowel had ruptured then I would have been in trouble. As bad as the injury was I was very lucky and was very close to having surgery but the radiologists had a closer look and decided that my bowel hadn't been ruptured so they only put me in intensive care over one night. I'm still very hopeful that I might be able to get back for a few games."

Injured Schulz released from hospitalESN - Thu 21/6, 6:36PM
NEWS: Football operations manager Peter Rohde told portadelaidefc.com.au "He's just been released from hospital and he'll spend the next four or five days recovering, but he'll be monitored by medical staff every day. We're pretty confident he'll be back in a week or so doing some form of training. It'll all depend on how quickly the blood dissolves. He's stopped bleeding but he's still got some blood internally in his abdomen so it'll be a matter of when that dissolves. Once that's all cleared up he'll start training again and then he'll play a week or two after that. He'll spend the next four or five days with family and no doubt will be taking it quite easy."

Injured Schulz suffering internal bleedingESN - Mon 18/6, 6:00PM
NEWS: Schulz received a knee to his stomach in Round 12 on the weekend. After the game he began suffering severe abdominal pain and was taken to hospital. It was later revealed he was suffering internal bleeding. Power doctor Mark Fisher said "Fortunately, that bleeding's settled down overnight, he's had another scan this morning and it shows that the bleeding's stopped - he's quite stable, he's well. Due to concerns regarding that bleeding he'll stay in hospital for at least the next couple of days. I expect he'll probably be unable to play for the next at lest three to four weeks."
