The Blues don't expect any training time to be missed by Waite, who has reportedly been enjoying his best pre-season to date. NEWS: Waite is beginning to get back to his best after a 10 week layoff this season with a back complaint. He kicked 5 goals in Round 21 against Essendon and is showing just how important he is to Carlton's structures. Carlton coach Brett Ratten said "Waite is our Cloke, our Franklin, our Goodes. He's what Brown is to Brisbane, Walker to Adelaide, Hawkins for Geelong - that's the equivalent - so when you take them out they're not easily replaced. I think it just shows the value of when you get A-grade players, having them on the park helps your team. We've had the inconsistency in being able to get him out there for most of the season in the past three or four [years]."

NEWS: Waite had 13 possessions, six marks and kicked 2 goals in his VFL return on the weekend and looks set to return to the senior side in Round 19 for the Blues. Northern Blues Coach (and Carlton Development Coach), Darren Harris said "He got through a full week of training week before the VFL game and has pulled up well today, which is a very encouraging sign. His performance on the weekend was solid across all four quarters. I think the real positive was late in the game, when he was putting a lot of pressure on it and was still able to run and play good football."
