NEWS: To think that McDonald just recently was working for the Match Review Panel and he now is the first player in the 2012 season to face the action. McDonald is under the microscope for a late hit on Luke Parker in the first quarter against Sydney on Saturday night.
| ||||
NEWS: McDonald may be serving time after being reported in Round 1 of the AFL season. He took Luke Parker from the Sydney Swans high. It seemed quite soft but could miss some time.
| ||||
NEWS: After game 1, you could only be filled with confidence in lining up McDonald as a genuine cash cow option. He was named in the best players, put his body on the line and won a heap of the ball to finish with 98DT/99SC.
| ||||
NEWS: Playing a possible forward tag role on Malceski... 23 disposals and 6 tackles with 6 marks and 1.0. A bump on Parker in Q1 will be looked at as he did catch the kid in the jaw... probably not hard enough to get a week though.

NEWS: McDonald will be 35 this year, retiring with the Melbourne Demons in 2010. He only plans on playing for 1 year with Greater Western Sydney before taking up a full time coaching role. Fantasy owners need 6-7 games from him early on and we think he will get them. He played 251 games for Melbourne and captained the side from 2008 until retirement. He has been an All Australian, and won the clubs best & fairest twice. He can seriously score fantasy points. In 2010 before retirement he averaged 95 Dream Team points & 100 SuperCoach points a game. McDonald is in great shape and ready to go. With a year off, he believes he is mentally and physically refreshed for the 2012 season. He has had a strong pre-season. Cash Cow Potential: Not only can he fit in your midfield, but we think you can play him on the field and he will return a solid 70+ range score. He was a terrific footballer and over his break he has continued his conditioning. There have been suggestions that his game time may be managed and he also could be wearing the substitute vest. | This is a 2012 outlook article.
| ||||
NEWS: It has been suggested McDonald may be a dangerous pick, overlooking his previous years of dominating fantasy football, with his old age, McDonald may be wearing the substitute vest on occasions and also rotated in and out of the side. This information has not come from inside the GWS camp and is pure speculation.

NEWS: With a year off, McDonald believes he is mentally and physically refreshed for the 2012 season. He has had a strong pre-season and although feeling some little doubts about his ability at his age, a wise head like McDonald shouldn't have too much trouble finding the ball. We are backing him in!
| ||||
NEWS: McDonald played amateur football for Old Xaverians in Melbourne last year, so he has not been out of the game for a year. He believes he is re energized and can't wait to get back out there after a tough but enjoyable 14th pre-season. McDonald has all the ingredients to be a strong cash cow, as long as he plays every game in the first 8-10 rounds.
