NEWS: Ross Lyon recently suggested "He trained really well and he's waiting with bated breath. In all likelihood he won't be the sub, but the match committee's nagging on a bit. I thought he was pretty impressive (against the Lions) ... so he's keen to get rid of that dreaded vest. We'll make a decision on what's best for the team."
| ||||
NEWS: Michael Barlow was full of praise for the midfielder after the game saying "He's a very smooth mover. The first time he got the ball he was able to cut through and cut them up with so much composure. He's only going to benefit from playing two and a bit quarters. He was chipper after the game, he was full of voice. So I think he'll be asking Ross pretty dramatically to get rid of the (substitute's) vest."

NEWS: On in Q2 for Fyfe... 13 disposals and 1.0. Started as a sub. | Mundy also had 3 grabs.

NEWS: Mundy is in line to return on Saturday against the Brisbane Lions. He recently said "Two weeks ago I was begging him (Lyon), I was knocking on his door begging to play. Since then I've ticked a lot of boxes and done a lot of running and tried to impress as much as I can. I feel like I'm up and ready to go."
| ||||
NEWS: Captain Matthew Pavlich recently said "I asked him how he was and he said he's right to go. Whether that is for the Subiaco Lions or the Fremantle Dockers we're yet to see. We were always hopeful he'd be ready for round one but I think it's more likely he'll be elsewhere than running around in purple on Saturday night."
| ||||
NEWS: Mundy is not expected to be ready to play as he continues to recover from an ankle injury he sustained 9 months ago. Ross Lyon recently suggested "he's not injured, he's just building conditioning and he's had some great weeks. But I think he'd be unlikely to play Round 1."
| ||||
NEWS: Mundy has made significant development in his progress from an ankle injury over the past few days and has set his sights on a Round 1 return against Geelong. Ross Lyon mentioned "It'd be a big ask, but maybe with the sub he could come back into contention which would be exciting." This could make Mundy an interesting proposition if he were to score poorly in several games and bring his price down well below average.
| ||||
NEWS: Mundy had an ankle injury last year in mid season which went from a 6 week injury into a disaster. He has had numerous setbacks over the off-season and it's starting to look questionable if he will make it back for Round 1. He can no longer be taken as a premium midfielder with any kind of certainty at this stage.
| ||||
NEWS: Mundy is an intriguing add. There is certainly upside here, and he will be playing for a highly improved side. He was having an excellent break out season last year before injury hit him midway. Don't let that 95DT/106SC average confuse you. He had a Dream Team score of 2 points which was 6 points in SuperCoach when hit with injury. He is a potential 100+ Dream Team and 110+ average in Supercoach as a midfielder in 2012. | This is a 2012 outlook article.
| ||||
NEWS: He is expected to return to training next week and will take flight in NAB Cup action in February.
