| ||||
NEWS: Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley said after the match "'Swanny' has got a minor hamstring strain so we'll know a little more about that in the next 48 hours." Swan was once again on track for a big game before suffering a hamstrong strain to begin the final quarter.

NEWS: Swan has been disappointed with his form before Round 5, which we find surprising. He has actually gone above 30 possessions every game this season, but with Swan he has higher KPIs than most. In Round 5 against Essendon on Wednesday he was of epic proportions with 42 possessions and 3 goals for 171DT/180SC. Swan said after the game "That was the plan. I don't want to be flying at the start of the year. I want to be doing my best towards the back end of the year. I'd like to play well every week, don't get me wrong. I try as hard as I can every week. But looking at the bigger picture, I'd like to be going as good as I can later in the year. But I wasn't going great early, so I had to pull my finger out."
| ||||
NEWS: Head to head with Watson then got Howlett's tag in Q2 but that didn't work... Hird tried Stanton on him... 42 possessions and 6 tackles plus 3.1... had a massive Q1 and a massive Q3 as well | Swan also had 6 marks.

NEWS: Swan has been questioned in recent weeks for his fitness and weight, but in a recent press conference has put it to rest saying, "For anyone who has any interest, which I'm not sure why, I'm about 800 grams heavier and my skin folds [are] about two points lower [than last year]. [I'm not] playing well, and we're losing - people tend to pick on you when you're not going well and you're at a high profile club like Collingwood." Swan got a bucket load of the ball on the weekend and we suspect he will use this negative criticism as a motivator. He is likely a very strong Captain option in the coming few weeks while Ablett is sidelined.

NEWS: Head to head with Gray... 36 possessions and 7 tackles plus 0.2 | Swan also had 4 grabs.
| ||||

NEWS: Matched up on Sewell... 31 touches and 1.0... a disappointingly low 3 marks and no tackles at all

NEWS: The Social Media platform is quite a beast. The interaction between fans and players has never been closer. A rumour floated over forums and social platforms last week involving Swan, was quickly squashed by Collingwood Captain, Nick Maxwell. The expression 'web of lies' is quite literally an issue plaguing professional sport in this day and age.

NEWS: Swan plans to avoid being in the position with Collingwwod where they force him into retirement because he has outstayed his welcome. He has named the year that he will retire. This will mean he is only turning 30 at the beginning of the retirement year in 2014. He has also opted against being in the leadership group, as he believes he is a leader on the field and not in meetings.
