NEWS: Brent Staker is set for another six weeks on the sidelines after undergoing minor knee surgery.
| ||||
NEWS: Brent Staker underwent two reconstructions and a bone graft on his right knee over a horror two year period. Staker's athleticism is undoubted, but his dodgy knee's ability to withstand the rigorous of AFL is uncertain. "People say there are mental scars, but I don't think there is too much to worry about," Staker said.v"Pre-Christmas there were a couple of marking contests where I was thinking about it, I was a bit nervous and maybe I didn't go in that hard, but it just isn't entering my head now."

NEWS: Staker ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in Round 1, 2011, He opted to use LARS in his recovery but unfortunately only lasted 6 Rounds in the 2012 season before suffering the same fate. This time he took a more cautious approach with a traditional knee reconstruction. After the operation his surgeon told him he needed a bone graft to repair the knee and would require him back in the operating theatre in six months' time. There he would need a hamstring graft. As you can read, he has had some bad luck on the injury front. He recently had his first training session in over 18 months with the group and is on his way back.

NEWS: Staker has elected to take the traditional reconstructive surgery, which means he will miss the entire 2012 season.
