| NEWS: Wilkes is another mature aged recruit who played in the WAFL last year, and won the Simpson Medal as the best player on the ground, kicking 5 goals leading his side to victory. At 23 years of age, he spent his earlier years on the West Coast Eagles rookie list but was only given an opportunity late. He was a key defender who played 23 games between 2008 and 2009 and was delisted in 2010 after being injured all season. That was the changing of the guard where he represented Claremont in the WAFL and was shifted forward to show he has the potential of playing at both ends of the ground kicking 40 goals for the season. Cash Cow Potential: Wilkes is targeting a start in the position vacated by Dawson at the end of last season. Quite surprising that he starts in the position which led him to being delisted by West Coast in 2010.
