He got a cork to his thigh and without having to do too much until Friday (the Swans' main training session) it means his cork will recover in that time."

NEWS: Goodes believes after a month back playing that he is back at full fitness but thinks he will play the remainder of thr season in the forward lines with the midfield on fire. Goodes told AAP on Wednesday "I definitely feel like my match fitness is back. It was always going to take about a month and I'm definitely back to that now. On the weekend, I played the most that I've played (since coming back). Only coming off a couple of times, which is normal for me. Our forward line structure is working for us, with myself, Lewis Roberts-Thomson and the likes of Mike Pyke and Shane Mumford pinch-hitting at times has been really good for us. Our midfield has been going fantastically well, but me getting into the midfield isn't required probably as much as it probably was last year. I still love playing in the midfield and will pinch-hit from time to time."

NEWS: Goodes said on Thursday "I always thought I'd be back in six week and did all the right things to get myself back, but I was a little naïve to think I could come back and play to the standard I want to get to. So it has been a little bit frustrating from that point of view, but I'm just happy to be back playing footy. To play a better role on the weekend felt really good and I felt I was running on top of the ground a lot better in that last quarter and I'm looking forward to playing bigger minutes this week."

NEWS: Do not be overly concerned about Goodes quiet return to AFL on the weekend. It was expected Goodes would be subbed out from the beginning, and he was also very regularly rotated on and off the bench during the game. His form will pick back up in the coming weeks. Sydney Coach John Longmire said "There was thinking from the senior coach, there wasn't much thinking from Adam about being subbed out tonight/ I said to him before the game 'look, don't get too dirty if I tap you on the shoulder during the game and put the red vest on you'. He was actually quite obliging and probably didn't think it was going to happen. But it happened. We were just rapt for him to get through the game and to get the win was terrific."

NEWS: Goodes looks probable to return against the Cats on Friday Night in Round 13, after getting through several training sessions untroubled from a quad injury sustained several weeks ago. Coach John Longmire said on Wednesday prior to training "He's looking pretty well. He did his first session on Saturday and then trained again on Monday and got through that really well, pulled up well yesterday, so at this stage we expect him to train today and play him."
