It’s funny how the people who love to pick crap out of other people’s work and opinions seem to be the same one’s who have nothing original or noteworthy to say themselves! Gee I’d love to work with people like that. Not. But it’s also what makes this site great – it brings everyone together, just as the real footy does on weekends. I’ve been told by the devil that I must bring in Fisher this week or I will burn in hell for the rest of my life. My plan was to downgrade Maguire to Campbell Heath and upgrade Waters to Sam Fisher (as I have next to nothing in the bank). This would mean Davis would now become a starting defender with Webberly and Heath on the bench. It would also free up $200,000 to allow me to upgrade Howlett to someone like Judd/Montagna/NDS in future weeks. What do you guys think?

Just to clarify, I only give the red cross for injuries that put a player out for the rest of the game – nothing to do with whether he will miss weeks in the future. Scotland’s knock was late in the game so he didn’t miss much TOG, but nevertheless he didn’t come back on so it did merit the cross.

CatsFan… I think you should ignore the devil on this occasion. My general rule is you don’t want to play anyone in your starting line up with an average less than 80. Obviously you will have no choice at times but anything above 80 as an average is a keeper for me. That means Waters is a keeper with an average of just over 82. To sell Waters and Maguire (combined average of 157) for Sam Fisher and Heath is not a good move in my opinion. This will force you to play Davis so instead of having an average of 157 (Waters Maguire) you will have 142 (Fisher Davis). I know this will free up some cash to upgrade your midfield but is the loss of 15 points on average worth the potential gain down the track?
I don’t know how many trades you have left but make sure you have around 10 by the half way mark as many teams in your league will be tempted to use them unnecessarily. Heath is worth considering but do you really need him if you have Davis and Webberly on your bench? Has Davis made you enough money? If so get rid of him or Maguire to bring in Heath if you really want to make the trade.
And Monty… If you’ve read down this far, keep up the good work and thanks for the website.

Making a useful suggestion is constructive – like suggesting to you to read posts properly before throwing your opinions in would have been a positive move on your behalf.
