2014 cheat sheet

I see this story as true and self…

I see this story as true and self-evident. Dayle Garlett will play the role that Jed Anderson played last year, picked for half the games albeit wearing a lot of vests. With Jonathan Simpkin also getting more work as Brad Sewell ages and Sam Mitchell plays more halfback, Anderson will step up into the Shane Savage position in the midfield rotations, also donning some vests but playing a more vital role in the best 22.

That’s the plan, anyway. Mitch Hallahan is the one lurking in the shadows if any of those players goes down.

Mitch Hallahan has to be in front of Dayle Garlett. While Garlett has untapped ability the Hawks will be hoping to develop his defensive game at Box Hill before he forces his way into the seniors. Anderson is in the best 22 if ready but he is behind the pack after his battle with pneumonia.

He will be in the mix up forward this year. From what I know about Mitch, he will battle with Woodward to come in when Mitch, Sewell and Lewis (inside guys) miss. There is also a back spot left by Guerra to fill but you would think first crack would go to Suckers. My only issue with that idea is that he doesn’t have the defensive game of Gue.

Oh, and of course there is also the can that Clarko just changes things big time after learning the lessons of 2009/2010 when the game plan that won 08 was out of date in such quick time frame!
