Early 2009 fantasy preview: Port Adelaide
- Updated: October 4, 2008
Chad Cornes (86/13) has to be a lock. Has to be. Come on. It’s Chad.
Kane Cornes (98/22), not so much… I don’t think he’s a lock to be in the top 6 mids any more. He’s going to be traded into a lot of sides halfway through the year on reputation, I’m tipping. I think Domenic Cassisi (92/21), Steven Salopek (94/15) and Travis Boak (83/17) have already stepped up. Danyle Pearce (74/21), sadly, is no longer relevant.
The only possible value in the forwards is in the young brothers: Matthew Westhoff (51/3) and Marlon Motlop (55/2) are highly likely to be discounted down to a point where they edge along the outskirts of fantasy relevance, if only as bench cash cows.
As for the rest of the team, I think we’ll have to look to the draft for any value… that #4 pick in particular.
