It takes all of 9 seconds for the first goal of the day! Stanley gets the clear tap down to the space in front of Dangerfield who runs onto it and shoots truly from 55. (Q1 1:07)
Parfitt sends it high inside 50 where Ratugolea flies high to mark amongst three Blues. From right on 50, he puts the breeze to work and bends it back to perfection. (Q1 4:17)
The Cats slingshot from end to end, finishing with Ratugolea clunking the Ablett kick while tumbling back with the flight. From 45m, he misses to the left. (Q1 8:30)
The in-play O’Brien shot from outside the 50 has plenty of power on it but not the accuracy, sliding to the right. (Q1 12:08)
A rolling grubber from Dow out of congestion sneaks in for a behind and that’s the only hope it ever had. (Q1 13:12)
Daisy chips it inside 50 to Kennedy who marks, shoots from 45, and slots Carlton’s first of the day. (Q1 13:42)
Casboult’s rebounding kick is a poor one, landing straight in the lap of Miers. He shoots from 45 but its marginally wide, keeping its line the entire journey. (Q1 15:19)
Dangerfield roosts it deep forward. The ball bounces high on its point and Tuohy is the first to react, collecting and snapping with class from the pocket. (Q1 18:35)
The footy falls off hands into the arms of Dangerfield who’s started like a house on fire. He’s good enough to hastily get boot to ball, slotting his second from the hot spot. (Q1 20:12)
Henderson lowers his eyes, pinpointing Narkle who marks in front of the leading Rohan – take your pick. Narkle shoots from 45 and hits the post. (Q1 22:52)
Rohan hits Tuohy on the lead, not too far from the boundary, but the 45m shot is to the near side. (Q1 25:49)
Walsh runs himself into trouble, caught HTB by an aggressive Kelly tackle. Tim shoots from 40 and splits the middle. (Q1 29:03)
Just prior to the QT siren, Dangerfield is penalised for holding McKay after the fact. Harry slices his shot and can only muster a behind. (Q1 31:21)
Setterfield launches it from 48 in the rain, but the shot is never online. (Q2 6:12)
Setterfield flicks a handball over the top to Murphy who sends a checkside banana from the pocket which bends a mile, straight into the post. (Q2 6:41)
Ratugolea quickly releases a fast-moving Ablett on his inner side who snaps the goal from the hot spot. (Q2 8:08)
Narkle takes it from the stoppage, jets away, takes a bounce in the wet and then spears a shot toward goal from 50 that bounces through! (Q2 9:25)
Dangerfield collects in the pocket without much room to move, dribbling a shot that can only register a minor score. (Q2 11:40)
Simpson’s kick hangs up in the wind, forcing a turnover that ends with Dangerfield juggling the mark in the hot spot and booting it home. (Q2 12:35)

Rohan sets it up to the pocket where Ablett marks strongly. He plays on, exposing the lack of Carlton awareness, and snaps truly on his left. (Q2 29:02)
Tuohy marks the sky-high Ablett kick a fraction of a second before the HT siren. He lines up from 30, slots it, and makes it a 51-point margin at the main break. (Half Time)
Dahlhaus sends a rushed kick from the wing inside 50 where Ablett takes an impressive mark with Thomas hot on his heels. From 40m, Gaz makes it count. (Q3 2:02)
Dangerfield dashes away from the centre bounce, mirroring the opening goal of the match. This shot, however, only registers a minor score. (Q3 3:29)
O’Brien receives from Curnow and has a chance on the run from 45 but can’t capitalise, missing to the near side. (Q3 10:24)
Walsh is caught high by Narkle and gets a shot at goal as a reward. From 45, it’s offline. (Q3 16:23)
Silvagni sidesteps and snaps quickly from 15 but it’s straight into the post. (Q3 17:07)
Following a few slippery fumbles from Geelong, Deluca picks up the footy in the pocket and gets a snap away that bounces under hands and sneaks through for a goal. (Q3 17:07)
McKay holds the mark strongly over Blicavs. He goes back and spears the goal from 40m, keeping it low all the way through. (Q3 17:07)
Dow sends it to the hot spot where Cunningham crumbs and kicks a goal, however, the review indicates it came off a teammate’s knee and is therefore ruled a touched behind. (Q3 17:07)
Hawkins collects at half-forward, dances around and then sends a left-foot pass inside 50. Stanley slides in, holds the mark, and slots the goal from 30m. (Q3 17:07)
O’Brien reaches the fall of the rushed, sky-high Henderson clearance, slotting the set-shot from 40. (Q3 17:07)
Parfitt throws it on the boot from 45, unintentionally grubbering a minor score for the Cats. (Q3 17:07)
Ablett pokes it short to Tuohy who shoots from the 50 arc, lucky to register a minor score as it’s pushed way out to the right. (Q3 17:07)
Miers tries to get back onto his right boot, slipping over in the process. He’s forced to release a handball over to Guthrie who nails the quick left-foot shot from 40. (Q3 17:07)
Miers is involved again, this time with a running shot of his own from 35 which is sprayed to the far side. (Q3 17:07)
Duncan picks up the loose footy, dishing to Dangerfield who snaps with vigor from 30m but it’s offline. (Q3 17:07)
Narkle sends it to the top of the square where SPS comes across to thump it over the line. (Q4 13:00)
Rohan protects the drop of the footy, holding an excellent mark with Newman wearing him like a glove. Gary goes back, launches from 50 and misses to the right. (Q4 14:17)
A chain of rapid handballs ends with Kelly at 25 who shoots on the run but misses to the near side. (Q4 16:36)
McGovern scoops it out the back to Fisher who throws a snap on the boot that sails through from 30. (Q4 18:31)
Ablett pumps it out from the centre. Ratugolea makes the contest, bringing the ball decisively to ground, allowing Dahlhaus to crumb cleanly at speed and split the middle. (Q4 20:30)
Grunt work from Narkle allows Miers to finally chalks up a major, sending a snap from 35 on his left that narrowly sails over the players on the goalline. (Q4 22:45)
Dahlhaus makes it three for the afternoon, roving the throw-in splendidly and snapping off a couple of steps from 25. (Q4 23:45)
The under-pressure Bews kick lands in the lap of Narkle at 40, but he can’t make the most of the chance. (Q4 25:31)
Dangerfield sends it inside 50 to Blicavs who’s drifted forward. The shot is reminiscent of a defender, slicing it OOTF. (Q4 29:16)
Fisher releases the galloping Walsh who sets sail from 45, chalking up a late goal for the Blues. (Q4 30:31)
Dangerfield marks 40m out, kicking his fourth of the day to cap off an influential performance that’s all but guaranteed the three votes. (Q4 30:31)
Ablett sends it forward from the clearance where Rohan marks at speed on his chest. The 45m attempt starts online but fades late. (Q4 30:31)
