Lynch launches a set shot from 52 to try to get his team on the board. His attempt makes the distance but doesn’t have the accuracy. Minor score. (Q1 1:14)
Ebert marks the sharp Houston kick and will slot the first goal of the day from just outside the goal square. Port Adelaide is on the board! (Q1 2:57)
A chain of Port handballs ends with Lycett on the HFF. He takes a flying, running shot but it’s offline and through for a minor score. (Q1 6:45)
Bolton puts on some good forward pressure resulting in Castagna feeding the footy out by hand to Caddy. Josh takes his time and snaps on his left boot for Richmond’s first goal! (Q1 8:14)
The little Tigers combine through Rioli, Baker and Higgins. The latter’s running shot from just inside the 50 arc bounces wide. (Q1 9:57)
Noah Balta marks an errant defensive Power clearance. From right on 50, his kick is offline. (Q1 11:59)
Ebert spots a waiting Robbie Gray in the pocket who was able to lose his marker. On a tight angle from 35, his drop punt is flawless. (Q1 15:13)
Powell-Pepper bursts out from the centre clearance to find Robbie Gray on the HFF. Robbie sells a little candy and sets it up to Sam Gray who marks bravely and then kicks truly. (Q1 17:26)
Prestia executes poorly to kick OOTF deep in his defensive lines. Drew plays on and passes to Sam Gray. Graham gives away 50m for late contact on Gray, who kicks the easy goal. (Q1 23:58)
Jack Higgins centres the footy to Brandon Ellis within range. Instead of taking the straight 40m shot, he passes to Lambert in the pocket. Kane’s right-foot snap hits the post… (Q1 25:14)
Balta sensationally intercepts a wayward Jonas switch attempt. He runs his measure, takes a bounce and pops it over the top to Caddy who slots a simple goal. (Q1 27:14)
After roving a pack in the pocket, Westhoff manages to get the ball to boot while being held by one arm and slung in circles. His kick cannons into the post. (Q2 2:57)
Bolton, Castagna and Prestia surge forward from the wing as the latter kicks toward an open goal square. It bounces straight through the middle! (Q2 4:14)
Powell-Pepper and Boak combine on the HFF. Travis’ forward 50 entry marginally clears Grimes and lands in the lap of Wines. From 35m on a 45-degree angle, Ollie kicks the goal! (Q2 8:25)
After a head knock just a minute earlier, Ebert shows no signs of being affected. He clunks the errant Astbury clearance, wheels around, and boots the goal from outside 50. (Q2 12:42)
Lynch catches Burton HTB in the forward pocket but can’t convert when it counts. Behind only. (Q2 14:37)
Caddy is the only man with the intent to pick up the footy in the pocket. He roosts a high centering ball and it falls to Lynch in the best spot. From directly in front, Tom goals! (Q2 17:26)
The Tigers pump the footy out from the centre clearance. Bolton is the only player to stay on his feet as he crumbs, changes direction, and snaps the goal from 15m out. (Q2 18:51)
Boak has an opportunity to peg one back in a haste, but he starts his set shot left and that’s where it stays. (Q2 18:51)
About 10 forward handballs in succession from Richmond finally result in a kick to Baker on the lead. From 40, his shot is marginally wide. (Q2 21:58)
Ryder does exceptionally well to rove his own pack and snap toward goal. His attempt is overshadowed by an even better Jackie Chan-style goal from Powell-Pepper! (Q2 25:11)
Bolton dances around a couple of opponents in the pocket and hits Ellis with the short pass. From just on 50, his kick is long, strong and through the middle! (Q2 29:11)
Ebert catches Edwards HTB and will line up for his 3rd goal of the day. From 40m on a slight angle, he misses to the right. (Q3 2:14)
Astbury is penalised for a hold against the bigger-bodied Ryder. From about 55, Ryder’s attempt on goal looks good off the boot and sails over the goal umpire’s head! (Q3 4:36)
The mosquito fleet streams forward and pop it over the top to Lynch who kicks the easy goal. He’s awarded a second goal thanks to a Burton push and the crowd doesn’t like it. (Q3 10:41)
The Tigers surge ahead again, and again they find themselves goalside of their opponents. Stack knocks it on to Baker who snaps the goal from 30. (Q3 14:19)
Higgins’ set shot falls just short on the goal line, but Port Adelaide fails to kill the footy. Lynch is first to react, snapping the goal on his left boot from almost point blank. (Q3 15:49)
McIntosh’s backward kick is an absolute shank. Broad’s attempt at a pickup goes through his legs and is equally embarrassing. Sam Gray snaps his third goal of the day! (Q3 21:31)
McIntosh has had a few minutes to forget, penalised for deliberate OOB in the pocket. Burton is the benefactor and slots a fantastic goal from 50m on the boundary. (Q3 22:34)
It’s free kicks galore in Adelaide today! Nankervis comes in and slots the goal from 40m after Ryder gave away a soft high contact free at the stoppage. (Q3 24:35)
Robbie Gray feeds it out of congestion in the forward pocket to Ryder. The big man has to throw it on the boot in haste and as a result, can only scrape a behind. (Q3 27:49)
Grimes impedes Robbie Gray in the marking contest. He’ll kick from 42 on a 45-degree angle. Umpire’s call is a goal but they’re checking to see if it shaved the post… Goal! (Q3 31:20)
Front-on contact is paid against Duursma as Rioli flew for the mark. Daniel pushes his 35m set shot to the right and that’s where it stays. (Q4 4:59)
Lynch marks on the wing and plays on… but the umpire doesn’t call it and thus a 50m penalty is paid for crossing over the mark. From 44m with no real angle, he kicks the goal! (Q4 7:57)
Lycett finds Butters all on his own inside his attacking 50. The youngster lines up and kicks from the 50 arc. It’s knuckled over the line for a behind. (Q4 9:59)
Balta’s tackle lingers on Drew who draws the free and will line up from 35. He has no trouble converting when it counts! (Q4 12:15)
Stack milks the free kick for light contact, then butchers it OOTF. Port then work it to the hot spot where Ollie Wines eventually snaps the goal from inside the square. (Q4 16:14)
Lambert pumps the footy forward to a genuine two-on-two inside Richmond’s 50. Caddy can’t hold the mark but then mops up his own mess and soccers the footy through the goal! (Q4 18:28)
Grimes does well to intercept the ball coming in, but then turns it straight back over to Houston on the rebound. He kicks truly from 50 and puts the Power back in front! (Q4 23:29)
Castagna roves a busy pack and feeds it by hand to McIntosh. He throws it on the left boot and his snap bounces fortunately, putting the Tigers back in front! (Q4 24:59)
It’s a huge mark to young Duursma who will feel the pressure to put his team back in front. From 30, he sprays it. 1 point the difference. (Q4 27:12)
