There haven’t been any media reports on Griffen that I’ve seen, dadsninja. Injuryupdate has him returning this week.

This thread is about injuries and reports arising from the weekend’s games. Thus usually it won’t contain info on those who are late withdrawals.

m0nty, your website would have by far the highest popular:shit-layout ratio. Everyone loves this site for DT live scores but it’s just so disgustingly set out. Why don’t you get a professional web designer to help you out so that your site doesn’t look like a year 10’s HTML programming project. If it had a better layout, you’d bring way more sponsors and be able to do this fulltime. You’d probably even be able to launch a better forum and have dominance over fantasy football websites in Australia.

Hey Tommo, have you ever thought that maybe Monty doesn’t want to do this full time and has other things to do with his time.
This site is great, has all the info that we need and gets us all by on the weekend when we need it the most.
    Get over yourself.

Can someone please tell me how Hille’s case was just thrown out? I thought he would honestly get 2. Great luck for me though having him as my 2nd ruck

Pretty sure Monty has said he does do this fulltime.
Gotta agree with Tommo it is a pretty pittyful layout. Stail as a year old dogs turd.
That said the content is great so thats why i keep coming back but i reckon at 1st glance it would turn some people off.

tommo, I get that attitude a lot from posters, yet none of them can ever articulate what they actually want instead. Can you point me to a site or sites that you wish FF looked more like as examples of what I should fix? Or are you just whinging with nothing to back it up?

    May 18, 2010 at 4:38 pm

    @ Tommo

There is a feedback section to put forward any suggestions you may have. Hang on your intellectually unable to navigate through this site, so i will help you. No i won’t, if you dont like it don’t buy it, fuck off.

I like the site how it is now it gives u up to date dream team points what more could you ask for Monty even gives u a recap of match events. The only downside i see to this website is after a match is finished you have the price changes for Dream Team but not Supercoach is this because the price changes take longer for supercoach?

@merto09 doesnt look good for Houilhan could miss 2 months

Also Daniel Jackson got suspended for 3 weeks and Greg Broughton will miss the next 5 matches with a foot injury

Geez, what’s with all the bad attitude? I’m a primary school teacher and my grade four kids don’t carry on like half you blokes. Monty, the site kicks arse. So the graphics aren’t shit hot, who cares? I like it. It’s a little bit old school with awesome, up to date info. It’s such a breath of fresh air from mainstream footy media. Keep it up Monty!

Hey Monty, on your show I just heard you say there are 240 million American’s! Not being cheeky but there are 307 million living in the USA. Bloody teachers!

@tommo has a point, but abuse is a poor method of persuasion mate.

monty, I’m a web dev and would be happy to help out. I’ll get in touch at the end of the season, when I’m back in Aus, to see if I can assist.

now, is it time to pike on Mitch Clarke? I’ve got a feeling Cox will average 75 in the last 8 games of the season when their season is over and are looking to give Natnooi more experience in preparation for the Cox phase-out.

307 million now, really? I guess I should update my projections, thanks.

  25. t0mm0

    May 19, 2010 at 2:39 pm

m0nty, I think – and I’m sure most will agree – the home page is too cluttered. There’s a million links off the main page and all in size 8 writing so it’s hard to see what you want. You could have a different section for the results. I love the format you have it in with the bar across the top – it’s a good idea – but to reduce the clutter you should have it on a separate webpage with larger writing. “Player Discussion”, “FanFooty Forum” and “FanFooty Cheat Sheat” should all be (large) links off the main page to reduce clutter. The main page shouldn’t be divided horizontally down the middle and the main part of the main page should just be your blog.

The colouring is really bland and the advertisements are seemingly in the middle of nowhere. If the layout of these were slightly better and the colouring and font both changed it’d look so much more appealing. Just look a DT Talk’s website (I know it’s unfair to compare you to them) but they have basic colouring too but with their setout it looks less cluttered and more user friendly.

Thanks for reading and sorry about the earlier grilling but I just reckon with a better layout you could be DT Talk Big Footy.

    May 19, 2010 at 5:09 pm

Monty, we can make that 309 million, I was using info thats 12 months old. And just think, none of them know a thing about Aussie Rules Footy. What a sad existence. Instead they watch baseball. I liken watching baseball to watching paint dry. Only my opinion.

Everytime I punch in the adress I cant wait for the weeks headline. As for the clutterness its easier to navigate then other sites so ‘big up’ for mont and better to have too much then not enough – cause you do not want to be like that little orphan boy “please sir can I have some more”!!

    May 19, 2010 at 8:44 pm

Love the site Monty don’t change a thing!
The one thing I cant stand is a site that loads like a pensioner having a pull.Just have a look @ the AFL site run by Bigpond, flash based runs like poo!
Stick with the old school HTML quick and easy means happy punters.

  29. m0nty

    May 19, 2010 at 9:20 pm

tommo, first off, the colour is bland because it’s only the default colours. When you log in you can change the colour scheme based on your favourite team. When you go into the Account Options page, the #1 team you choose determines the colour scheme of the site.

The blog is not the main part of the site, to be honest. Plenty of people never visit the blog. Some people only ever visit the forums, for example. Others only ever come to FF for player profiles and statistical research. Others only visit on match days for the live news and scoring. I bet some even come here just for the podcast! Thus I have to include everything plus the kitchen sink on the front page, because different people want to use different links.

FF is not just a blog. Certainly from the traffic the blog gets compared to other parts, it could be argued that the blog is largely irrelevant. The blog format works well for DTT for obvious reasons but there are a lot more features on FF and they have ot be advertised on the front page as well.

hey monty, dont you think a few more articles would be good, last year i thought you were great but this year havnt put out as much stuff. are you lacking help with the site?

  31. t0mm0

    May 20, 2010 at 7:37 pm

well defended m0nty! Just putting in my 2 cents I suppose. I really do think if it was less cluttered and more attractive you’d attract better sponsors. However from what you’ve said that is obviously a lot easier said than done.
