Burgoyne roves a hot-spot pack then dishes the footy by hand to Gunston. Jack snaps the first goal of the day for the Hawks with relative ease. (Q1 0:00)
A quick slingshot play ends with Nash in the forward 50. He offloads by hand to Bruest who strides into the open goal to slot another one for the Hawks. (Q1 0:00)
The Dogs bite back quickly. Macrae hands off to Schache who slots the Sherrin through the middle from 50 on the run. (Q1 0:00)
Henderson lowers his eyes and finds Bruest in some space. His 30m set shot should be an easy one, but the result is offline. (Q1 0:00)
That would be *Breust with the early attacking prowess. He’s involved yet again, this time finding Roughead in space inside 50. Roughy’s set shot is as straight as a knife edge! (Q1 0:00)
Gowers will have a set shot following some good work from Hunter and Liberatore on the HFF. His attempt from 40 pulls left for a minor score. (Q1 0:00)
It’s another goal for the brown and gold, this time through Puopolo. He can thank Henderson for a very clever hotspot-bound banana which Puopolo had no trouble running onto. (Q1 0:00)
Richards roves a cluster and attempts an off-the-ground kick in the goalsquare, but his right boot didn’t make enough of a connection. Through for a minor score. (Q1 0:00)
Dickson intercepts a Hawthorn defensive clearance just on the 50m arc. His shot doesn’t quite have the distance. Off hands for a behind. (Q1 0:00)
Crozier bombs the footy forward with no real target in mind. The Hawthorn defence can’t kill the footy, allowing McLean to crumb, snap and goal. (Q1 0:00)
Macrae’s around-the-corner shot from just on the 50m arc is both a little wide and a little too strong for Gowers to run onto. Minor score for the Dogs. (Q1 0:00)
Impey gives away an obvious over-the-shoulder free kick in a marking contest. Dickson takes his shot 40m out, directly in front, and goals with ease. (Q1 0:00)
Richards marks a Wallis switch-pass on the 50, darts inboard and hits Naughton on the lead. His set shot from 35 on a slight angle is across the face for a minor score. (Q1 0:00)

A long Hawthorn ball to the top of the square moves through a few sets of hands before eventually finding Isaac Smith. He nails the goal with a snap on his left. (Q2 8:53)
Gunston is quick and clever enough to centre the footy from the pocket to the hot spot. O’Meara takes the contested mark and splits the middle from 20m, directly in front. (Q2 8:53)
Gowers marks strongly inside 50 over the top of Sicily. His set shot from 40 on a slight angle is straight through the middle. (Q2 8:53)
Gunston marks the hopeful Roughead inside-50 while running toward the goal. He elects to take the set shot, which he has no trouble in converting. Goal to the Hawks. (Q2 8:53)
Puopolo kicks to the mismatch of Roughead and Caleb Daniel at the top of the square. Roughead marks with ease and kicks the simple goal. (Q2 8:53)
English clumsily falls into the back of Breust in the pocket. His left foot snap looks like a goal, however, upon review, it was touched by the man on the mark. Behind only. (Q2 8:53)
Roughead kicks to Gunston. He spots Cousins who marks at 45m on a slight angle. James’ set shot is flawless. (Q2 8:53)
Gunston takes a brave mark running back with the flight. Lining up for his third goal of the day, Gunston’s 45m shot from the boundary is punched into the post. Behind. (Q2 8:53)
McEvoy offers a good block to allow Henderson to run to 45. His shot is through for a goal as the Hawks extend their lead. (Q2 8:53)
Somehow Daniel is again caught in the goalsquare against a key forward – this time it’s Gunston. He marks the Nash kick and plays on, kicking the easiest of goals just before 3QT. (Q2 8:53)
Duryea shows composure to pull his kick late, finding Gowers on the lead. Billy’s shot from 40 on a slight angle is through for a goal! (Q2 8:53)
Gunston takes a strong mark over the top of Duryea but is made to earn it with a hard fall back to earth. After catching his breath he lines up, runs in, and kicks another goal. (Q2 8:53)
Dunkley’s second effort is a handball out to Schache, who snaps on his left from 35 for a goal. Naughton could have taken the mark but unselfishly let it fly over his head. (Q2 8:53)
Schache will kick from just inside the 50 on a tight angle. Despite being on the good side for a left-footer, his shot is through for a behind. (Q2 8:53)
Following a Bailey Smith pass, Schache will go again from an almost identical spot. Schache’s kick this time is flawless. Goal to the Doggies. (Q2 8:53)

English lines up from about 54. He gives it a massive roost but sacrifices accuracy for distance. Minor score only. (Q4 19:16)
Bontempelli does exceptionally well to crash the pack and then distribute the footy. McLean picks up the loose ball, spins onto his right and snaps the goal from 25. (Q4 21:51)
Worpel gives away a strange free kick in the centre circle for not vacating the space. The dogs work it forward, Macrae picks up the crumbs and goals from 40. Scores are level! (Q4 23:03)
Sicily is penalised for very soft off-the-ball aggression. It takes the footy from the centre circle all the way to the Dogs’ hot spot. Schache goals from directly in front. (Q4 25:03)
Following a stoppage in the forward pocket, Libba puts the Dogs two goals up! It was an unconventional yet effective left-foot snap. (Q4 26:37)
McLean kicks it to the one-on-one of Gowers and Sicily. Gowers had the advantage and as a result, Sicily gave away the free. 50m for umpire abuse takes Gowers to the goal line. (Q4 30:02)
Bontempelli almost puts the icing on the cake with a long bomb to a vacant square. But Isaac Smith touches it on the line just in time. Game over. Dogs win. (Q4 32:03)
