Murphy roves a Spurr spoil just forward of wing and kicks along the boundary to Tutt who moves quick along the line about 20 out from goal but misses the dribble. (Q1 1:16)
Menzel cuts off the kick in immediately cutting in front of Ibbotson on the boundary 40 out for a great mark and the first goal of the match. (Q1 2:47)
Blues get two in a quick start as Holman marks a Yarran kick 40 out from goal and hands over to the long kicking Tuohy for a running bomb from 50. (Q1 4:00)
Freo responds from the early attack from the Blues, spreading fast from the centre bounce and getting it into Pav’s hands 40 out for a standard mark and goal. (Q1 5:20)
Freo get another one as Mundy bombs it out of the middle, allowing Pavlich to rove the bounce of the ball and get a high tackle in the goalsquare from Tuohy. Easy goal. (Q1 7:32)
Mayne marks on the flank and looks inboard to Walters 50 out who slips over but still manages to gather and hand back to Mayne for a running goal from 40 out. (Q1 12:00)
Tutt and Kreuzer combine on the flank to create a chance for Everitt on the 50 near the boundary who hacks it forward. A goal review for touching later and it’s a goal! (Q1 14:10)
Fyfe runs along the boundary on the wing and handpasses over a tackler to Mundy who pops it to Ballantyne in front of Buckley. From 35 on a little angle his slots it. (Q1 18:31)
Suban gets left alone inside 50 which allows for a quick handball out of a pack to land in his hands with no pressure, he rushes the kick and it’s just a behind. (Q1 19:43)
Fyfe gets the jump on White – literally – jumping too far in front of him to give him a chance and marking 40 out. He hands to Mundy before he hits the ground and its a goal. (Q1 23:33)
Murphy gets a terrible half volley deep in defense which allows Pavlich to just stroll past and hand it to Griffin alone in the pocket for a good drop punt goal. (Q1 27:02)
It has been a very high scoring first quarter (at least by Freo standards) with a very energetic Blues competing hard and forcing Freo to run. Should slow down from now on. (Qtr Time)
Neale kicks it forward to the hotspot 15 out from goal where Tuohy gives away a holding free kick to Mayne 10 out for an easy goal. (Q2 3:06)
Blues respond well with Cripps bullying his way past Fyfe on the flank and giving to Murphy for a chip to Tutt alone in the 50 for an easy running goal. (Q2 4:18)

Quick bomb into the 50 by Docherty creates chaos which allows Bell to try a dribble at goal but it skims the post. (Q2 13:04)
Very very bad effort from Tutt who just doesn’t get anywhere near the ball at ground level, allowing for Freo to just clean up and give to Danyle Pearce for a snapping goal. (Q2 15:20)
Walters grabs a very iffy mark inside 50, prompting Yarran to argue with the umpires which allows him to run around and snap at goal from 35 but he misses terribly. (Q2 22:36)
Boundary throw in deep inside fifty for the Blues gets knocked right into Bell’s hands, he hands it to Docherty with space 15 out right in front for an easy goal. (Q2 28:18)
Contentious free kick with one second left in the half to Walters who milked a push from Docherty to give him the shot from 35 on a 45 degree angle. He misses. (Half Time)
The game’s scoring slowed immensely that quarter, but the intensity was still insane. You can see the players’ fatigue, however, as there have been terrible skill errors everywhere (Half Time)
Danyle Pearce shoves it on his boot after a contest in the 50 and it lands in Hill’s hands for a mark 35 out from goal. With little angle, he kicks the first of the second half. (Q3 2:04)
Throw in inside 50 from the Blues gets tapped down into Curnow’s hands for a quick handpass to Murphy and an even quicker snap but it’s just a behind. (Q3 7:15)
Yarran kicks terribly to switch in defense which allows Mayne and Mundy to hand it around and allow Mayne a goal from 5 out without pressure. (Q3 9:10)
Danyle Pearce rebounds a Carlton attempt to get out of defense by kicking to Pavlich who bowls over Tuohy before marking 25 out. With little angle he misses badly. (Q3 14:32)
Crozier goes for a long run down the middle and goes long to Sandilands running along the boundary inside 50 who hands over to Pav for a snap but it misses. (Q3 17:15)
Bell kicks a magnificent goal snapping from the boundary after Curnow roves a Cripps mark attempt 30 out from goal and gives to the big man running wide. (Q3 19:29)
Premier League started early it seems as Mayne makes something crazy happen out of a bouncing ball in the goalsquare and soccers it out of the air for the goal. (Q3 27:02)
Fields spoils a Taberner mark and knocks it to Yarran alone on the flank for a chip over to Bell 35 out. He takes the shot with a 45 degree angle and just barely goals. (Q3 29:52)
It starts bucketing down suddenly as we commence Q4 with a rushed behind by Tuohy. (Q4 0:31)
Fyfe roves a throw in very close to goal in the pocket and with no one around him he dribbles it wide for a behind. (Q4 2:14)
Walters roves the slippery ball after Sandi drops a mark and tries a snap from the pocket but it slides to the far side for a behind. (Q4 7:02)
Casboult gets shoved out of the way for Sandilands to mark and gives away the 50 for arguing ensuring the goal but never mind that Walters took Mark of the Year to set it up! (Q4 19:58)
As the game starts slowing down and entering it’s last 5 minutes both Hill and Pavlich have pot shots at goal but neither get it through the big sticks. (Q4 22:29)
Walters gets himself a dribbling goal after Yarran spectates his run past Pav to dribble a goal from 35. (Q4 25:13)
Mayne can’t get to the magical 5 goal haul as he misses a clear set shot right in front 40 out by less than a metre. (Q4 27:19)
High ball kicked into the 50 for Freo to three forwards with no one contesting. They let Taberner mark the ball 30 out right in front and he rewards them with a shocking point. (Q4 29:34)
