Kye Annand is an old-fashioned footballer, not just in his Jimmy Jess hairstyle but also that he is a rather ungainly defender standing at 200cm who could play in ruck if the team needed it. At the age of 23 as a mid-season mature-aged draft pick, he may not have a whole lot of potential left in him, and may end up sharing the fate of other VFL-coded draftees like Lachie Blakiston who seem set to be here for a good time, not a long time. It's not as if Luke Trainor has owned centre half back at Richmond so far, however, so Annand has time to prove his worth to list management.
