Liam Baker was brought across from Richmond to West Coast to shepherd their young but talented list off the bottom rungs of the ladder and towards September action. While the club has been a lot more competitive this campaign, especially in the first half of the year, Baker's form has dropped away like many of his teammates. He has been a spectator at times, providing physical presence but little in the way of contributions with ball in hand for long periods. Today's contractual obligation presages a nice long rest, then a recharge for an upward inflection in 2027.
