Josh Goater has struggled mightily with leg problems in his time at North Melbourne, variously injuring an MCL, hamstring, calf and Achilles. He has returned to the senior side in recent weeks playing a half back interceptor role, one that the Kangaroos tried to slot Griffin Logue into but failed to make work. He is just tall enough to play key position but not nearly bulky enough of frame, so his best work is done floating in front of packs rather than wrestling with opponents. He has the rest of this season to prove he can contribute in that potentially lucrative role.
