Lachlan Cowan has firmly established himself in the best 23 at Carlton as a versatile defender, nominally starting on smalls but capable of halving plenty of contests against talls when given handovers. Like Brayden Maynard and teammate Nick Haynes, his best game is probably one where he isn't forced to mark key position opponents; that's part of why Haynes is there, after all. Carlton fans love to cheer a back flanker, and their moo chants when he rebounds are healthily cheesy. He is worth stowing in dynasty leagues if he becomes the next Nic Newman.
