Jack Darling came to North Melbourne after a successful career at West Coast primarily to shepherd the younger forwards through the early part of their development. He had to add rucking duties to his bow after North realised Tristan Xerri needed more help than he was getting, but with the advent of new ruck rules this year leading to more ruck tandems, Darling had the pressure eased off him, as the club looked to more traditional ruck support options... then they found out Cooper Trembath's ruck craft was even better. Darling can just focus on goals now.
