Oscar Adams is holding his place in the Gold Coast 23 despite probably thinking that he is behind Charlie Ballard in the depth chart for key defenders at the club. Like James Borlase at the Crows and Buku Khamis at the Bulldogs, he might not get a game if the bloke he is nominally replacing was fit and in top form. For now, Adams like those other two is the sort of depth player who won't let the team down, filling out the structure and playing his part without having much of a direct influence on the outcome of the game. As such, coaches love his type.
