Jack Crisp has never been the main man at Collingwood or his prior club Brisbane, even when he was getting regular games at inside mid. He started his career at half back and, while much of the middle part was spent in midfield, he has returned there in recent weeks to bolster an undermanned defence. He, Scott Pendlebury and Steele Sidebottom are experienced enough to be utilities at this point, shifting wherever the coach needs a steady hand to clean up messes left by the younger brigade. As such, his longevity is his best asset.
