Patrick Dangerfield does not need to do much in this Geelong side for them to win most of their games. He proved his worth in the preseason interstate game, where his one-percenters playing forward to bust open packs and create scoring opportunities was the x-factor that led to a Victorian win. He was never a massive accumulator even at his peak, but his line on the stat sheet is usually way down the list these days... and that's okay. He will be invaluable again in September, if he manages to avoid the old man's curse of soft tissue injuries in the legs.
