Logan Evans might have had designs on a creative half back flank role at Port Adelaide, but with the club down on soldiers in defence they have increasingly relied on him to play close-checking roles. This is even more surprising structurally given Brandon Zerk-Thatcher is fit and playing well in the SANFL, but Evans and Lachie Jones have been the players asked to contest against players significantly bigger than them. The Power are in transition with their list, but at this stage of Evans' career he seems to have been stamped with the roleplayer label and nothing more.
