Lachlan McAndrew is one of a crop of less-experienced rucks getting games every week as the #1 tapper, helped by the shift away from the substitute rule which most clubs are using as an opportunity to play two rucks in tandem. In the case of McAndrew, it was also that the Crows wanted to move on from Reilly O'Brien whose skills were never that great and had regressed to the point where his clangers were hurting more than his positive work. McAndrew is more mobile and agile, and for the moment that is good enough to keep his spot as a useful fantasy cash generator.
