Oliver Florent moved across from Sydney in the off season searching for more opportunities at Carlton, but if he wanted a role change he hasn't got it as he is still being used at whatever wing or flank at either end has a hole that needs filling. Perhaps he doesn't quite have the high level of skill by foot to make it to the A-grade as an outside receiver, so any remaining potential in his game would be to investigate options of running through the centre, as Andrew Gaff did late in his career. Moving to Carlton, stacked as it is with inside mids, was the wrong choice if this was his plan.
