Connor Macdonald has been released from a half forward flank to rotate through midfield this season, even before the near-inevitable long-term injury to Will Day. He steps into the role vacated by James Worpel, in the hope that he can deliver better disposal while still winning as much of the footy on the inside. He is not built like an inside beast like Worpel, however, being more suited to running on the outside and getting involved in transition. He showed a lot of promise in the easy win over Essendon last week, especially when connecting with partner in crime Dylan Moore.
