Archie Perkins is one of a number of Essendon players who were supposed to lift the club into finals contention once again, but his generation has not lived up to the hype. While Sam Durham and Jye Caldwell have graduated into regular inside mid slots in the Dons best 22, Perkins has only managed to convince Brad Scott to play him off a half forward flank for the most part - unless half the side is injured, which is when he gets put in the middle and plays his most productive footy. Perhaps it's a fault of list management, but he is a roleplayer at best in a poor side.
