Jack Whitlock has come into the Port Adelaide senior 22 at a fraught period, with the coach as a lame duck and the club lacking direction as it plays out its contractual obligations from another failed season. He managed a few garbage time goals last week, and obviously has talent, but we won't really see his capabilities until the Power start playing serious footy again next year. Like all tall forwards, he will take the best part of five years in the system to come into his full powers. Until that time comes, he will vie for a third tall forward spot in a middling team.
