Luke Trainor came through junior Australian football ranks as a key defender and started his senior AFL career in the same role, but he has been put on a wing during the bye period, a move that does not have much precedent for such a young and tall player. Nic Cox and Harrison Jones have done the same in recent years at Essendon while the Eagles have also rotated rookie-aged 190cm+ players on a wing, but this is the first time a key position player at Richmond has played wing for a full game since the days of Matthew Richardson.
